The Global eCommerce Customer Development Manager, Amazon is responsible for driving Amazon sales and market share growth by driving superior customer engagement with Amazon Global Vendor Team and enabling Amazon teams around the world by building capabilities, sharing best practices and partnering on projects to unlock growth. They will work closely with country Amazon teams to ensure alignment and execution against the CP & Amazon’s strategies and leading the development and implementation of the CP/Amazon Global Joint Business Plans. They will also work closely with other cross-functional members of the Global Amazon team including Supply Chain, Marketing, Packaging, Analytics and Legal. This person will be responsible for communicating relevant Amazon information to the global teams, sharing best practices and stepping up the capabilities and skill sets of our country teams by coaching and training them on the latest processes, tools and information systems for the management of Amazon around the world.

What You Will Do

Amazon Ecosystem expertise

  • Have a clear understanding of Amazon’s business model and ways of working
  • Participate in industry Amazon conferences & webinars to build knowledge and benchmark capabilities to drive thought leadership within Colgate-Palmolive
  • Actively monitor relevant new Amazon ways of working, news & best practice across markets (internal & external) and communicate to Global Amazon network and/or Senior Management
  • Act as an Internal expert for Amazon catalog set-up and maintenance and Amazon platform tools (internal & 3rd party)

Build Amazon eCapabilities across the organization

  • Lead Global bi-monthly conference call to build knowledge and capabilities amongst extended Amazon team
  • Develop Amazon specific guides, playbooks and/or training sessions to build team capabilities (e.g. Subscribe & Save Workshop, Amazon Platform Hackathon
  • Develop & maintain Amazon on-boarding tools for all new Amazon team members and conduct 1:1 on-boarding training, as required
  • Maintain Global Amazon Playbook

Enhance Amazon customer engagement across Amazon ecosystem

  • Amazon Global Vendor Management Team
    • Partner with global and local teams to define Amazon growth opportunities and drive engagement across all levels of C-P/Amazon organization to deliver top-line sales and supply chain efficiencies
    • Define and lead projects within Global GVM Project JBP with Amazon, as appropriate
    • Establish strong customer relationships within Amazon Global Vendor Management (GVM) Program Team and extended Amazon working group via regular meetings to identify new opportunities and review and monitor JBP progress
    • Escalate issues to address roadblocks for local teams
  • Amazon Advertising
    • Global contact for Amazon Advertising for both external and internal teams
    • Understand Amazon Advertising key initiatives and pain points from local teams and recommend opportunities to overcome roadblocks for local teams
    • Define and lead forums (eg. Meetings, newsletters) to systematically disseminate Amazon Advertising learnings across all levels of C-P organization (e.g. Annual Amazon Advertising Immersion Days training)
  • Amazon Brand Registry Team
    • Partner with Global Legal to lead projects with Amazon Brand Registry team and support requirements for local teams
Global Amazon Analytics Development

  • Lead strategy for Amazon Marketing Cloud expansion and sharing of best practices across Amazon countries
  • Develop, enhance and maintain the global internal dashboards to help our teams drive Amazon business efficiently and effectively (eg. ONE Amazon View, 3P Marketplace Sales Tracking)
  • Internal expert and evangelist for Amazon Brand Analytics platform -- accelerate training and user adoption to support sales growth
  • Internal expert and evangelist for utilization of 3rd Party Tools that support Amazon operations (e.g. Profitero, CommerceIQ) -- accelerate training and user adoption to support sales growth
  • Partner with Amazon APIs (Application Program Interface) Team to better leverage API for efficient Data ingestion and deriving insights

Global/Divisional Alignment

  • Report quarterly Amazon net sales, consumption and market share - understand key growth drivers and performance gaps
  • Meet regularly with Amazon countries to understand key projects/priorities, identify any outstanding issues and support required.
  • Support Amazon new country expansions by ensuring alignment with Global strategies
  • Team partnership with other Global Amazon functional team members (eg. Supply Chain, Packaging, Legal, Marketing, Advertising)
  • Participate in any Global or Regional Amazon Team meetings, as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 7+ years of experience in customer management, retail marketing or brand management
  • Amazon operational experience of directly working with or managing Amazon, both retail and Amazon advertising
  • 3+ years working in Digital Commerce (Amazon, PurePlay or Omnichannel) and/or Digital Marketing
  • Customer Engagement is an area of strength
  • Strong leadership skills to lead projects, ensure flawless execution and influence others
  • Enjoys working in a global cross-functional team
  • Naturally curious and comfortable with data and analytics
  • Passion for growth and trying new things

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, eCommerce/Amazon/digital experience

Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range $115 200,00 - $163 000,00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
