JOB SUMMARY:
The Austin Habitat for Humanity (Part-Time) Grants Coordinator will assist the Senior Grants Manager in all aspects of securing grant funding to support the programs of AHFH; Affordable Homeownership, Home Repair, Housing Counseling, Advocacy and general operating support as well as any other grants necessary.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is required to spend the majority of the day on their feet; required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects tools or controls. They will reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are required.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Austin Habitat for Humanity (Part-Time) Grants Coordinator will assist the Senior Grants Manager in all aspects of securing grant funding to support the programs of AHFH; Affordable Homeownership, Home Repair, Housing Counseling, Advocacy and general operating support as well as any other grants necessary.
AGENCY EXPECTATIONS:
- Acts as a role model within and outside the Agency
- Adheres to Agency policy and procedures
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude and upholds organizational core values
- Works in collaboration with supervisor and staff to implement organizational strategic goals
- Demonstrates self-motivation, flexibility and efficient time management
- Research potential funding opportunities, including corporate, government and foundation sources
- Collect and analyze data for grant applications, including demographics and housing trends
- Prepare information for grant applications, including narratives, budgets and statistics
- Write grant narratives, family stories and other content for grants
- Maintain accurate grant-related information and actions in donor database, grant calendar, financial system and organizational metrics systems, and other systems as needed
- Work with Senior Grants manager and other team members to create grant reports for funders
- Prepare draw requests and other reimbursement as needed
- Prepare for grant site visits, if necessary
- Assist finance team with annual audit by maintaining grant contracts records and providing grants information on request during the audit
- Represent AHFH at organizational events including annual gala, other fundraising events, conferences, community meetings, and homebuilding events (wall raisings, dedications, etc.)
- Provide written content, organizational or community data and other information to members of the Development team, other AHFH teams and community partners in a timely manner when requested
- Participate in team events such as team building and staff build days as needed
- Committed to the mission of AHFH and have the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously in a professional, unbiased and ethical manner
- College degree (Bachelors or Associates) required
- 2+ years experience in grant or proposal writing
- Experience or interest in non-profits or affordable housing
- Strong research and writing skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- $25 - $29 hourly
