Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $17.00/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 pm (some flexibility with hours)

Department: Human Resources

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Intern will work closely with the Human Resources Supervisor and Specialists to experience a variety of different HR tasks and responsibilities, share ideas on streamlining processes, and assist with various projects and employee events.

Essential Functions:

  • Learn and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
  • Participate in and assist with the recruitment process; screen applications/resumes; conduct phone screenings.
  • Assist with onboarding process, including sending out communications and calendar invitations for onboarding tours.
  • Assist with training by creating PowerPoint presentations, scheduling and documenting training.
  • Enter employee data in the Human Resources Information System.
  • Assist with updating and creating Standard Operating Guidelines by creating process outlines.
  • Assist with CDL reporting and data entry.
  • Assist with the uniform program organization and tracking.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, coordination, and other assistance for various employee events, including health fair, lunch and learns etc.
  • Assist with the proper maintenance of department files by researching retention requirements and recommending document destruction.
  • Attend career fairs, recruiting and networking events, including monthly NKY Society for Human Resources Management lunch programs, and school visits.
  • May also provide support to other departments as needed.
  • Comply with company policies.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled in undergraduate degree program as a Junior or Senior, or in a graduate degree program in a related field of study.
  • Basic experience in Human Resources preferred.


Licensing/Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and various software.

  • Communicates clearly and effectively.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This job primarily operates in a climate-controlled environment. Works with equipment such as computers, copy machine, fax, and phones. The position requires auditory and visual skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. There is no regular travel expected for this position.
