Job Description: Ecommerce Controller/ Finance DIrector

Our client is looking for a reliable Controller or Finance Director to lead their finance team. The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the finance department, managing costing, purchasing, inventory processes and profit margins. In addition, the Director of Finance will work with the greater Milliard team to streamline processes, ensure increased margins and effective cost management processes company-wide.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage the bookkeeping team and their processes.
Oversee monthly close from beginning to end, doing journal entries as necessary.
Analyze financial statements and share analytics and reporting with management.
Responsible for managing and reconciling inventory costs and ensuring accuracy on a continuous basis.
Work with inventory department to monitor and reconcile inventory between internal data system and physical warehouses, reviewing shrinkage and containing it.
Create purchasing budgets and update them to keep in line with company cash and growth objectives.
Review bills as they relate to cost of goods to understand the processes and seek initiatives to cut costs and increase margins.
Coordinate with logistics team to ensure costs are efficient and minimized when possible.
Oversee domestic and foreign sales tax reporting and ensure filings are timely, accurate, and efficient.
Review products regularly to ensure margins are maximized and inventory coverage is appropriate. Communicate findings with the sales and purchasing teams.
Monitor SKU profits regularly and ensure that sales team is meeting the company profitability guidelines and budget.
Prepare cost, channel and SKU level analytics for management using available tools and resources.
Manage cash flow.
Prepare company wide budget as well as department budgets.
Oversee financial reporting for banks, auditors, and external organizations.
Analyze data as requested to assist management in strategic planning.
Collaborate with software developers to design and improve reporting and automation.
Protect the organization’s integrity by keeping company information confidential.
Perform any other duties that the manager delegates.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
Proven work experience in an accounting setting, 7+ years
Detail oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively and take initiative.
