Position Summary
A prominent company in the energy sector is seeking a knowledgeable Indirect Tax Senior Manager. This key role involves managing all aspects of indirect tax compliance and strategy to ensure regulatory adherence and optimize tax positions.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Strategy Development: Formulate and implement effective strategies to enhance the efficiency of VAT, GST, excise, and customs duties.
Compliance Management: Oversee adherence to state and local indirect tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns.
Audit Leadership: Manage tax audits, including preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
Collaborative Support: Provide tax-related advice and support across finance, legal, and operations teams.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, ensuring tasks are effectively delegated and compliance deadlines are met.
Risk Identification: Recognize and mitigate tax risks, keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations.
Process Enhancement: Continuously improve tax processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications are preferred.
Experience: Extensive experience in indirect tax management, particularly within the energy or manufacturing sectors.
Skills: Strong understanding of indirect tax laws, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, leadership and team management abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency with ERP systems and tax software, and a solid grounding in accounting and finance principles.
