Provides information technology support for employee’s, computers, laser scanners, printers, and other IT equipment across all facilities for the entire Rea Magnet Wire Company via Phone, Email, Instant Messaging, and other Communication Media.

Responsible for first-call support of Information Technology equipment in the local manufacturing facility. This includes, but not limited to; process data systems, manufacturing execution systems, office computer support, warehouse systems, printer support and general application support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to Helpdesk calls; installs, configures and performs first-level diagnostics of problems involving office and shop floor computers.
  • Performs repairs and inventory management of PC’s, laser scanners, printers, and other equipment for the local manufacturing facility.
  • Performs software installation and troubleshooting as needed. Maintains a strong knowledge of OS imaging and software packaging/installation techniques.
  • Creates and Maintains documentation for local systems, hardware and inventories.
  • Create and Maintains records for repairs, problem resolutions and other activity via IT Service Desk ticketing and Knowledge base system
  • Participate in self-directed video training and classroom training as instructed.
  • Keeps up-to-date with operating systems such as Windows and Linux for both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge in Microsoft Office applications. Help develop solutions with MSOffice and report writing applications, along with data connectivity techniques to increase user productivity.
  • Performs other duties and assists other departments or plants as directed by IT Support Supervisor.

Position Specification

Prefer a full-time or part-time student in a Computer or Industrial Technology or related field

Flexible Hours, 15-25 hours per week, year-round.

One (1) year experience with computers – both hardware and software Proficiency with Windows and Linux Operating Systems and with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications Hardware Proficiency (PC and Laptop Troubleshooting, Laser Printer Troubleshooting, Touch screens and Bar-Code Scanners) Knowledge of Networking Concepts and Hardware (network switches and cabling)

Excellent trouble shooting, verbal and written skills.
