Land Administration Director

Reporting to the Vice President of Land & Land Administration, the Land Administration Director is responsible for overseeing lease records, division orders, and owner relations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in land administration within the oil and gas industry and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the land administration team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Develop processes to build channels of communication and information between division orders, lease records, and owner relations.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for asset integration and management.
  • Manage land-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of acreage and obligation reports for management.
  • Oversee audit documentation and SEC reporting requirements as it relates to the Lease Records function.
  • Resolves complex administrative issues and serves as the escalation path for direct reports.
  • Utilize innovative tools for increased efficiencies in the digitalization, automation, and data accessibility of the Land and Lease Records.
  • Oversee the maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of lease records.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of lease data into the land management system.
  • Apply expertise with contract limitations and relevant legal constraints to ensure timely and accurate activity in Lease Records.
  • Monitor lease obligations, including rental payments, extensions, and expirations, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with the legal and finance departments to resolve lease-related issues.
  • Work closely with the Division Order Manager to ensure accurate division of interest for revenue distribution, verify ownership information, and update division orders accordingly.
  • Work closely with the Owner Relations Supervisor to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders through effective communication, manage the owner relations database, and owner ticketing volumes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Land Management, or a related field, required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in land administration within the oil and gas industry, required.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams and projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of lease records management, division orders, and owner relations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in land management software I.E. P2 Land, ThoughtTrace, LandVantage systems.
  • Understand and uphold standard SOX compliance and controls.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations, inter-departmental functions, and cross-departmental knowledge.
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Embrace new technology and its applications to improve the way Land Administration has traditionally functioned.
