The ideal candidate will have experience in both domestic and international transportation. This position will play a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of goods both inbound and outbound for all modes (parcel, LTL, FTL, rail, ocean, air). It requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. Excellent communication and coordination with internal teams and transportation partners will be essential to ensure timely deliveries and smooth operations. This role will be proficient in data entry into a TMS.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with carriers and obtain rate quotes, while determining the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation
Schedule and coordinate domestic and international freight, both inbound and outbound, and complete the required paperwork for each
Maintain all documentation for shipment
Correspond with freight carriers to ensure quality of service as well as pricing
Verify delivery of all loads. Manage exceptions as they arise
Provide and assist tracking and tracing information for internal staff, customer service and end customers, and communicating final freight delivery
Audit freight charges, approve for payment, process and file claims for overcharges or damaged goods
Assist in the preparation/boxing of outbound parcel orders (<150 lbs.), preparing the necessary paperwork associated with each order (i.e. BOLS, delivery manifests, packing lists, commercial invoices)
Backup to other team members and assist with other duties as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in domestic and international transportation and warehouse operations
Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
Must be a team player and possess a high level of customer service skills
Must be proficient in data entry!
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
