Maintenance Facilities Supervisor

Client: Pretium Packaging

Summary

An incumbent may or may not perform all the duties listed below, dependent on the specific plant for which support is provided. Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems to minimize downtime and achieve efficient operation and production.

Functions Of The Job

Essential Functions:

• Attend daily maintenance meeting to determine work schedule
• Perform repairs and maintenance on machines and equipment inclusive of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and propane gas systems
• Troubleshoot and solve problems with equipment to minimize production downtime
• Perform building maintenance duties including plumbing, carpentry and masonry tasks
• Perform other building and grounds maintenance tasks (i.e. recycling, cleaning, insect/rodent control, etc.)
• Maintain HVAC system
• Maintain vacuum system
• Maintain water treatment systems, water pumps, and air compressors
• Document equipment repairs, cleaning, preventive maintenance, calibrations, etc. and complete all required paperwork
• Insures compliance to the facility GMP guidelines
• Supervises the receipt, unloading and transfer of resin from tank wagons and railcars
• Perform other related duties and special projects
  
  

Marginal Functions

• May perform mold changes (remove, replace with new mold, hook-up, check head, tooling, set downstream)
  
  

Supervisory Functions

Will review and check the work of the Maintenance personnel.

Position Qualification Requirements

Education: Requires a h igh school education or equivalent plus additional specialized training in hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical and HVAC.

Experience: Requires a minimum of one to three years' experience in order to gain sufficient skill to perform the requirements of the position.

Skills and Abilities , which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

• Language: Perform reading, writing, and speaking at a basic level.
• Mathematical: Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Demonstrate a basic understanding of specifications, blueprints, manuals and mechanical drawings.
• Reasoning: Ability to apply rational principles to solve practical problems and deal with several concrete variables in standardized situations and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Hand tools, mechanics tools, plasma cutter, sander, torches, welders, grinders, calipers, micrometers, hydraulic gauges, nitro gauges, voltmeters, amp meters, drills, mills, lathes, jacks, forklift and boom, overhead hoist

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Fork Lift Certification.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job .

• Standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, carrying, reaching, grasping, talking, and hearing.
• Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination; or part time concentrated attention and coordination.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Medium work - exerts up to 15 pounds of force frequently and up to 60 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  
  

Work Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

Physical conditions include proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to high temperatures, hot water, oil, grease, solvent tank, lubricants, pipe dope, contact cleaner, chemicals for water treatment, air pressure, noise and dust. Protective clothing that may be required includes: safety glasses, earplugs, helmets, and facemask.
