Job Description

We are looking for an individual who lives and breathes P&C Underwriting and has a passion for underwriting. Ideally, this person has deep experience with Business Owners' Policies (BOPs) or Commercial Package policies. This role reports to Attune's Chief Underwriting Officer.

As the P&C Underwriting Lead, you will be a P&C expert and have a deep understanding of our BOP and how it performs. You will be integral in developing our underwriting appetite, coverage, and filing requirements within the Attune portfolio. You are also customer-centric and are able to anticipate their needs and pain points.

Job Responsibilities

• Update and maintain underwriting guidelines and train internal personnel
• Work with our Technology and Operations teams to prioritize product improvements using third-party data and customer feedback
• Design, write, and implement all necessary terms and conditions and any related documents
• Work with our Actuary to provide input to rating and pricing
• Be the subject matter expert on appetite, eligibility, and coverage
• Contribute to our underwriting strategy
• Create product briefings and share with internal partners
• Track trends and stay on top of changes within the market and regulations
• Conduct file and underwriting audits as needed
• Handle complex underwriting referrals, support our Customer Care operation, and partner with our Claims Manager
• Conduct system testing
• Take on additional projects and tasks as needed to support the evolving needs of the business
  
  

Requirements

• 3-7+ years of P&C experience, ideally with Commercial Package or BOPs, in product, pricing and/or underwriting
• Understanding of insurance distribution marketplace including both admitted and non-admitted markets
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations for filing and compliance.
• Strong understanding of P&C customer profiles and small businesses
• Experience within small or middle-market environments
• Adaptable and self-driven
• Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and understandable way
• Comfortable with and adaptable to new technologies
• Attention and care to detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $140,000 per year, depending upon the individual's unique qualifications and experience. Additionally, this role offers the potential for a 10% annual bonus.
