Job Title: Museum Registration Technician
Salary: $23.08 - $29.21 per hour
Klamath County is on the lookout for a Registration Technician to join the Museum. You'll assist with maintaining and using the museum's records database, guiding volunteers, helping develop exhibits, and participating in outreach programs. This role is perfect for someone passionate about history and eager to contribute to our community's cultural heritage. You'll work under the direction of the Curator Manager and Museum Director.
The Ideal Candidate
Our Registration Technician should have a solid understanding of museum cataloging standards and experience with database systems like PastPerfect. You’re organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with volunteers are essential. Additionally, you should be comfortable with some physical activity, including lifting and carrying objects, and have a valid Oregon Driver’s License.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and use the museum’s records database, including accessions, de-accessions, cataloging, and research
- Provide guidance and support to museum volunteers
- Assist with museum exhibit development and outreach programs
- Work closely with the Curator Manager and Museum Director on various projects
- Ensure the proper maintenance and safety of museum facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the museum's operations and initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in museum studies or a related field, or three years of full-time museum experience
- Current Oregon Driver’s License
