Through both local and virtual programs, Youth Voice In Action is working to provide high schoolers with the necessary knowledge and interest to participate in both local and national politics. YVA provides free in-person leadership and civics training for high schoolers, engages in charity work to promote literacy, and engages in advocacy through Vote16 and other efforts. We are looking for motivated high school students who would be interested in being a Chapter Founder!
Role Description
This is a volunteer remote role as an Organization Chapter President at Youth Voice In Action. As an Organization Chapter President, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the operations of a local chapter of Youth Voice In Action. Your day-to-day tasks will include organizing meetings, coordinating events, recruiting and managing chapter members, and advocating for youth engagement in politics and civic activities.
Through founding your own YVA chapter, you will be able to promote civic engagement in your community, with the resources that we have already! We have access to a diverse set of connections across the country that can help with your civic engagement efforts, as well as brand materials, legal 501(c)3 tax exempt status, and much more!
Qualifications
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for youth engagement and politics
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in event planning and coordination is a plus
Knowledge of local and national political processes
Availability to commit time and effort to the role
