Part Time College Admissions Consultant

Who we are:

For 26 years, Educational Connections Tutoring and Test Prep has provided one-to-one instruction that students need to improve their grades, critical thinking strategies, organizational skills, and much more.

We believe that every student, even the most accomplished ones, can use a little help with optimizing their study habits. For that reason, we incorporate skills like staying organized, planning ahead to reduce procrastination, and study techniques into most everything we do. We offer four services: Subject Tutoring, Executive Function Coaching, SAT and ACT preparation, and full cycle college counseling.

At Educational Connections, you'll have the opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of students through completely individualized, one-on-one, online meetings.

Educational Connections is currently looking for a highly qualified COLLEGE CONSULTANT that have experience working at a selective and well known university or college!

What you'll do:

• Work via Zoom or Google Meets with students in grades 8 - 12 to create and implement a roadmap for applying to colleges.
• Assist students with course selection, college list development, application and essay completion, and interview preparation.
• Consult with parents to explain and choose the best program for their college bound student
• Work with a dedicated and enjoyable team, great kids and supportive families
• Help students entering high school find their individual brand and path to college by assisting with course, club, and extra curricular selection.
• Participate in company webinars to educate parents and student on the college process.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, or similar required
• 5+ years of experience in college admissions (evaluator, reader, director, officer) required or a combination of college admission and high school college counseling experience working with students applying to selective or highly selective colleges and universities.
• Experience guiding students through the entire college application process including but not limited to researching and crafting college lists, writing and editing essays, completing applications, and assisting with financial aid.
• Experience working with 8th/9th graders on course selection and building their resume is preferred.
• Familiar with a wide range of colleges ESPECIALLY mid-Atlantic colleges where a large number of our student population apply (UVA, GMU, William and Mary, Virginia Tech, etc.)
• Familiar with the Common Application
• Tech savvy, confident, and professional in an online setting
