Summary:

Our enterprise FinTech Client (not big banking) is looking to hire a detail-oriented Payroll Processing Specialist with extensive experience in ADP Workforce Now and advanced Excel skills. This contract role involves the preparation and processing of multi-state payroll, ensuring compliance, and maintaining confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, not just payroll administration, and will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.


Key Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Knowledge of payroll tax reporting and compliance
  • Familiarity with employee life cycle changes in payroll systems


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by ensuring a high level of confidentiality
  • Respond to internal employee payroll inquiries promptly and oversee the payroll email inbox
  • Maintain and organize hard payroll files
  • Prepare and process multi-state payroll for exempt and nonexempt employees in the US and some international locations
  • Process employee life cycle changes in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, entity changes, salary increases, tax changes, department allocations, and garnishments
  • Understand how payroll data is interpreted by third-party processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, Benefits, and Finance/Accounting
  • Provide relevant payroll-related reporting to various teams within the organization
  • Assist with the audit of third-party vendor-related tasks
  • Review quarterly payroll tax reporting and ensure filings are handled by ADP, as well as review and distribute annual W-2s
  • Assist or lead ad-hoc projects as needed


Required Certifications/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Business Administration) is preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) are a plus
