Job Description

This editor will oversee the daily process of editing and verifying the accuracy of the data provided by the RIA firms with a criteria check. The editor will work with AccuPoint as they submit modified lists through 2-3 final checks before the final list is complete. Again, this is time-consuming and requires attention to detail.

The editor will be checking to ensure all the criteria is met, including years in business; number of RIAs; AUM total; total accounts under management; percentage of discretionary assets; firm does financial planning.

The editor will be working with the strategic content team to build the actual FA ranking of all the 100 firms that make the final cut. To be clear: there can be as many as 300-400 firms on that list at this point, so it takes time to trim that list down to the final 100 for the Oct 2 launch. (The list gets modified as data is verified, and firms are moved off the list. This requires editing, making phone calls or sending emails to the firms and checking SEC data.)

In addition to building the FA 100 list, the editor will also be building what we call “capsules.” These are separate profiles for each of the 100 firms that make the FA 100. These profiles will include the most recent data for each firm. Again, it requires time to make calls and verify all the data is accurate and timely. The editor will also be responsible for obtaining the firm’s logos which appear on the FA 100 page.
