Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead our flagship metals extrusion facility located in Hopkinsville, KY; this pivotal role supports our client’s growing business, with a primary focus on the aerospace sector, offering a significant opportunity for both professional and personal growth; as a privately-owned, non-union facility, our client emphasizes innovation, excellence and leadership.
The Plant Manager will oversee Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Management, QA Lab Management, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives; this role is critical in driving financial performance, fostering leadership development, and spearheading continuous improvement; the ideal candidate will excel in a high-visibility environment, often interfacing with key stakeholders and customers, while leading a model factory known for its innovation and cutting-edge processes.

Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership: Champion and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental protocols to ensure compliance and promote a safe workplace culture.
- Operational Excellence: Provide clear expectations, accountability, and guidance to department heads and direct reports. Manage daily operations to ensure efficient and effective production.
- Process Optimization: Conduct regular audits and monitoring of plant processes to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
- Cost Management: Oversee cost controls and budget management to achieve financial targets and optimize resource allocation.
- Business System Implementation: Advocate for and implement the Company’s Business System principles, focusing on waste elimination, purpose clarity, and organizational alignment to drive continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with department heads to streamline purchasing, production, quality, and distribution processes, with a goal of achieving consistent year-over-year improvements in revenue, return on sales (ROS), yield, and productivity.
- Strategic Deployment: Lead the strategic deployment of new technologies and processes, enhancing our competitive edge and positioning the business for sustained, profitable growth.
- Culture Building: Foster a culture of engagement, communication, mutual trust and respect, accountability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Material Science, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree in Business, Material Science, Engineering, or Operations Management is highly advantageous.
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in metals extrusion or a related field.
- Lean Manufacturing Expertise: Demonstrated experience and deep knowledge in Lean Manufacturing principles and their application.
- Financial Acumen: Previous experience with Profit and Loss (P&L) management is essential, with a proven track record of driving financial performance and achieving budgetary goals.
