Power BI Financial Developer

The Power BI Financial Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions that empower financial decision-making and strategic planning. This role combines advanced knowledge of financial principles with technical expertise in Power BI to transform complex financial data into actionable insights. The developer will work closely with finance teams, stakeholders, and IT professionals to create dynamic and user-friendly dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support the organization’s financial goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Data Integration and Management: Integrate various financial data sources into Power BI to create a unified view of financial performance.
• Dashboard and Report Development: Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports that highlight key financial metrics and trends.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze financial data to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work with finance teams and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements. Communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Optimization and Maintenance: Continuously optimize and maintain Power BI solutions to ensure performance, accuracy, and relevance. Provide training and support to users.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure that all financial data visualizations comply with relevant data privacy regulations and internal security policies.
• Enhanced financial reporting and analysis capabilities that provide clear, actionable insights.
• Increased efficiency in financial data processing and visualization.
• Improved decision-making processes through accurate and timely financial information.

Requirements

• Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Applies expertise in principles, theories, and concepts
• Broad knowledge of business/function and development life cycle
• Prior Reporting Developer, or BI Developer experience
• Strong SQL Server experience along with Python
• 3-4 years’ experience developing Financial reports in Power BI
• In-depth experience with MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas etc..)
• Experience with the Agile/Scrum framework is a plus.
• Strong writing and documentation skills.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to understand the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
• Ability to communicate with business as well as technical teams.
  
  

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000

Offers of employment are contingent on passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening

This is a HYBRID Position that will require the resource to be in office near Hobby Airport (Local candidates will be considered first) in Houston, TX
