Purpose of the Role

To take full responsibility of the estimating department by allocating, tracking, and managing bids and personnel.

Responsibilities

LEVEL 1

  • Estimating through Planswift Estimating Program
  • Thoroughly analyze drawings and specifications
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions
  • Learn to provide clear detailed quantity take offs
  • Assemble estimates and proposals
  • Receive manufacture proposals for material quotes for estimating purposes
  • Organize paper trail of bid, proposal, specs, quotes, etc. in a clear method
  • Review and Analyze schedule
  • Log in Building connected
  • Ability to engage, develop & influence business with New and Existing Customers
  • Attend & participate in business meetings, industry conferences and network activity to improve the presence and reputation of the company

LEVEL 2

  • Manage Projections
  • Manage incoming bids
  • Manage estimating team
  • Manage Building connected
  • Analyze wins losses, follow ups
  • Call customers to learn about the FRP’s
  • Review Bids from our team for proper scope coverage
  • Price(Learned skill, takes time)
  • Sales
  • Project Interviews with GC’s
  • Train Estimators by teaching with hands on approach
  • Lead weekly estimating meeting
  • Report to Rocky and Zack
  • In Charge of 7 Estimators in Dallas with 3-4 PM/Estimators
  • Implementing Vision and Strategy
  • Business Development

LEVEL 3

  • Business Unit Leader
  • Managing an office
  • Executive Meetings

Core Skills

  • High level of fluency reading plans, specifications & related documents
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Experience and familiarity with construction industry
  • Competent with technology and programs PlanSwift, Plan Grid, Building Connected & MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Above average written & verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work in fast-paced environment, variable working hours both in office & field.
  • Enjoy various challenges with a multitasked position from takeoff to sales
  • Graduate in engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset.
