The President is tasked with developing and executing the vision and strategy to grow this small-mid sized business specialized staging, storage, and logistics business. The President develops and executes the vision and strategy for the business. The President is tasked with developing and implementing the business strategy for profitability and growth and will have full P&L responsibility for this business including Operations, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, and Shared Services.
Job Responsibilities:
Works with the CEO, Board of Directors, and key management in the development of strategic plans that meet long-term company objectives.
Directs the development and implementation of operating goals, plans, and performance in support of the overall company strategic plan.
Works with the sales and marketing function in the development and effective growth of the company.
Develops and approves annual operating budgets and monitors ongoing performance with the CEO through the use of KPIs.
Hires, trains, develops, motivates, and evaluates department heads.
Implements innovative processes/procedures which improve productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, or other key measures.
Works with the CEO in the design and implementation of effective wage and salary administration as well as performance-based incentive programs.
Establishes and implements capacity utilization plans/practices for efficient and profitable operations.
Develops internal talent through effective training programs, coaching, and mentoring.
Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and other external parties.
Identifies new business opportunities to create and articulate directions and options in the company’s business plan and growth objectives.
Fosters a culture in the organization that includes respect, trust, honesty, and involvement.
Experience, Skills and Education:
10+ years of cross-functional management experience, with at least 5 years in a general manager/president role (with responsibility for all aspects of the operation and P&L responsibility).
A high Emotional Quotient (EQ) is required.
Proven experience in implementing metrics across an organization.
Strong track record of profitably growing a business through innovation and commercialization.
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, MBA preferred.
