Job Description

Overview: As the Programme Director, you will manage one of our elite summer programmes, attended by teenage students from around the world. You will spearhead success through managing student safety and welfare, protecting and enhancing relationships and company reputation with key stakeholders, and being responsible for the overall student experience. The leadership of the Programme Director is instrumental in creating a transformative and enriching experience for all students.

The role would suit a highly experienced and capable leader in education who is excited by the opportunity to work with international students and a team of passionate staff, and to tackle the challenges that come hand in hand with running short programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Safety:

  • Oversee the implementation of safety measures and adherence to safeguarding policies across the whole programme.
  • Respond effectively to any safety concerns, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
  • Implement a safe environment for all students and staff members.
  • Manage the programme welfare officer, their surgery hours and actions.

Representing Oxford Royale:

  • Uphold the company's reputation by embodying the company's values when working with all students and staff members as well as all 3rd parties, for example guest speakers, external facilities and members of the public.
  • Work in close collaboration with the host venue conference team on a daily basis responding to their requests and concerns and supporting them when working through problems.

Student Experience:

  • Understand the 2 week timetable and the marketing messaging to fully understand the student expectations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of teachers to implement the academic curriculum providing support in day to day teaching skills as well as planning requirements for lectures, practicals and trips.
  • Oversee the execution of activities, events, and coach excursions to ensure that the students enjoy an enrichment experience outside of the classroom.
  • Ensure the highest quality of service to meet the high expectations of the students.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Oxford Royale Head Office on a daily basis providing regular updates and managing the here and now but also looking ahead to what lies ahead.
  • Manage all on-campus staff members, ensuring a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Provide leadership in resolving challenges professionally and efficiently.

Administration, Systems and Compliance:

  • Own and manage a programme budget.
  • Oversee full student records and incident reporting using processes and the student management system. Keeping records and written reports of all incidents.
  • Liaise with Head Office on any staffing matters.
  • Ensure that student reports, awards and certificates are completed to a high standard.

Position details:

  • Working hours will be approximately 60 per week across 6 days;
  • Contracts of varying lengths from 24th June 2023, minimum of 5 weeks, maximum of 7 weeks;
  • Meals and accommodation are provided.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • Extensive pastoral experience working with children and young people;
  • A completed teacher training course or suitable equivalent;
  • A university degree;
  • Experience of leading teams.

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of the international education industry (e.g. from having worked on a similar programme before) and how vacation courses operate.
