Overview

DLH is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to support the Network Coordinating Center of the ACTG (Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally for HIV and Other Infections) Network. ACTG is the world's largest and longest running clinical trials network focused on HIV and other infectious diseases and the people living with them. The RA will be responsible for a variety of word processing support for project staff including formatting clinical trial protocol documents, protocol overviews to solicit clinical research site interest, newsletters, organizational charts, presentations, tables, listings, and figures, and other documents. The RA will also help maintain the ACTG member website and support other administrative tasks. The RA will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of tasks in accordance with specific objectives, and for ensuring quality and productivity standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide word processing support to project staff including formatting Electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) protocol documents, protocol drafts, clinical research site protocol overviews, Manuals of Procedures (MOPS), Letters of Amendments (LoAs), Clarification Memos (CMs), protocol overviews for community members, newsletters, organizational charts, presentations, tables, listings, and figures, spreadsheets, surveys, meeting agendas, and other documents.
  • Help maintain the project website and portals to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information, organization, usefulness, and consistency throughout the ACTG member website. Assist with QC of information on the project website.
  • Upload draft and final protocols, accrual reports, announcements, communications, other documents, and videos to the project member website and internal DLH intranet.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the protocol summaries posted on the project public website.
  • Collate and format extensive session-specific agendas for project network meetings and retreats and assist with other meeting agendas, presentations, and materials as needed.
  • Monitor ClinicalTrials.gov to ensure that all applicable new protocols are posted on the website.
  • Support registration of new non-IND protocols and updating of existing non-IND protocols on ClinicalTrials.gov.
  • Monitor project communications mailbox and distribute messages promptly and correctly to appropriate recipients.
  • Perform ad-hoc technical and administrative tasks and backup and/or surge support as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or social sciences (or equivalent) (preferred).
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Word certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work collaboratively across internal and external teams.
  • At least one year of experience in clinical trials or scientific research required.

Basic Compensation

$53,000-$59,000 yearly salary

The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates’ skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
