Identify the most effective opportunities to initiate Industry 4.0 pilot projects in manufacturing.
Plan and execute implementation of IT applications in the production area at the interface to control and engineering systems (i.e. Required: FactoryTalk, Studio 500/5000; Preferred: Siemens WinCC, TIA Portal).
Research, shape and introduce modern industrial data communication in the production area for successful OT/IT integration (i.e. OPC, MQTT, VLANs/Firewalls).
Leverage modern IT solutions in order to simplify administrative processes through custom applications (i.e. MS Power Platform, Low-Code)
Collaborate closely with business functions, especially process engineering, as well as external providers to drive project success.
Operate Industry 4.0 applications and underlying infrastructure ensuring availability and reliable performance of new processes and solutions on the shop-floor.
Provide detailed and concise documentation of created work results to bring projects to successful completion including effective transfer into production.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial), or a related discipline.
5+ years of work experience in managing IT-related projects in a manufacturing context
Practical experience from IT-related role in realization of Industry 4.0 projects
Ability to deploy, configure and troubleshoot IT-related aspects of manufacturing systems
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networks, as well as SCADA concepts and the integration of sensors and data analytics in manufacturing
Knowledge of industrial data communication protocols (OPC, MQTT, Ethernet/IP) and understanding of network security concepts and best practices
Experience with modern IT solutions for custom applications (i.e. MS PowerPlatform, Low-Code)
Proficiency in industrial automation and control systems (PLC, HMI) is required
Strong technical interest and familiarity with production processes, equipment, and technologies.
Ability to enthusiastically learn new systems and software
Develop creative solutions to interface with a wide range of equipment
Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams
Dedication to optimizing manufacturing processes through IT solutions
Drive to learn about the latest technological advancements to support innovation
Travel abroad required, maximum 5%
This position is eligible for a quarterly plant bonus of up to 12%, starting immediately.
