Reporting to the Division Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the general ledger, monthly close and reconciliation activities, reporting for management use and compliance filings, and various duties in support of other departments. The role will provide an opportunity for personal professional growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
Reconcile the trial balance
Prepare and post journal entries
Analyze general ledger activity and variances
Prepare reports for management, external auditors, and external tax team
Perform daily/monthly bank account reconciliations
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Special projects and/or other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of:
General Ledger Accounting
Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
Ability to:
Handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines regularly and consistently
Maintain an extreme level of confidentiality
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Exercise good judgment
Detail-oriented; self-starter
Communicate effectively with all levels of staff throughout the organization
Build and maintain positive working relationships with all co-workers and staff
Experience and Training Guidelines:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or five (5) years’ experience in accounting
Agricultural/Manufacturing knowledge preferred
Advanced experience with Excel; SAP experience a plus
Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented and thorough; strong organizational skills
Valid CDL and insurable driving record

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and sitting. Occasional lifting, and or moving up to 40 pounds. Constant use of overall vision and hearing abilities; frequent detail, readingand close up work.

Work is performed in an office environment in connection to manufacturing business. Some travel may be required
