Job Description:

The Senior Brand Director is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution to drive sustainable growth for each the brand. This role involves defining core strategies and translating them into initiatives that will result in accelerated market share and profit growth through comprehensive go-to-market plans, marketing strategies, and portfolio innovations. This position requires close collaboration with Category Management, Business Development, R&D, Finance, and Sales to bring strategies to life and achieve sustainable profit growth. The Senior Brand Director reports directly to the General Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • P&L Management: Deliver annual business plan results and make decisions impacting the brand's P&L, with a focus on Trade Spending Management.
  • Brand Strategy: Develop and own brand strategies in collaboration with the General Manager and Director of Category Management/Insights. This includes overall growth strategy, channel positioning, tactical plans, price/value proposition, strategic target activation, and new product strategies across all channels, including out-of-home/food service.
  • Go-To-Market Strategist: Exhibit a deep understanding of customer channels and product routes to market, partnering with Sales and Supply Chain through the SIOP and Innovation processes.
  • Planning Leadership: Create and align senior management to multi-year brand strategic plans and annual marketing plans based on critical business performance analysis and channel strategies.
  • Innovation Strategy: Partner with Category Management/Insights/R&D to define and execute portfolio innovation plans for line extensions and new product introductions, ensuring effective and on-time market entry.
  • People Management: Manage and develop talent within the brand team (1).
  • Communications Leadership: Lead agency partner relationships to ensure efficient and breakthrough marketing activations, ensuring strong work products that drive sustainable growth.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant and progressively responsible CPG marketing experience.
  • Skills: Expertise in data analysis (Nielsen/IRI preferred), translating data into insights, strong leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills. High business acumen in both classic and digital marketing, budget management, and P&L understanding.
  • Track Record: Success in leading cross-functional teams, strong customer experience in sales or close sales collaboration in marketing, knowledge of manufacturing and distribution processes.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate concisely and effectively with direct reports, cross-functional teams, and agency partners.
  • Consumer Insights: Deep experience in leveraging analytics from primary and secondary research, emerging trends, POS results, and competitor actions to drive profitable volume growth.
  • Leadership: Ability to enroll and align leaders at all levels through effective storytelling and strategic thinking, building strong relationships with cross-functional partners to drive decision-making.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, challenging the status quo, and pursuing new ideas.
  • eCommerce: Experience growing brands in an eCommerce channel.
  • Independence: Must be an independent, proactive contributor who can excel in changing and ambiguous situations.
  • Leadership Qualities: Strong leadership skills, detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Private Label Experience: A plus.
