Senior Operations Manager

Job Description:

GAMA-1 Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Manager to support a federal enterprise 24 x 7 x 365 IT network system operations and service delivery. The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the 24 x 7 x 365 Operations, ensuring seamless and effective operation of the N-Wave services portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Management:
• Oversee the development, architecture, deployment, and operational standards across the enterprise federal agency network services portfolio
• Work closely with the Federal services portfolio manager to establish and maintain operational standards
• Develop and manage on-call rotation schedules to ensure 24x7 support for network services
• Team Leadership:
• Lead and mentor a multi-tiered network engineering team, including Tier-3 and Tier-2 engineers
• Coordinate and lead troubleshooting efforts to assist the team in resolving complex technical issues
• Ensure the stability and continuity of the workforce by maintaining a highly qualified and trained team
• Technical Oversight:
• Provide technical advice and recommendations on network architecture, best practices, and emerging technologies
• Design and build architectures based on customer requirements, ensuring integration and complementarity of multiple services
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve network and connectivity issues
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Collaborate with the Global Network Operations Center for 24x7x365 network operation services
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including federal management and other government agencies, to meet service level agreements and operational goals
• Ensure compliance with government policies and standards, including FISMA High security requirements
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 10 years of networking experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• CCIE or equivalent certification required
• CISSP certification required
• Extensive experience in leading multi-tiered network engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, design, and implementation
• Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex network systems and issues
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud network architectures and virtual landing zones in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle
• Knowledge of network transport methods, including Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and VPN tunnels
• Experience with vessel support and shore-to-ship connectivity solutions
• Familiarity with managed LAN, firewall, wireless, VPN, and cable plant services
• Strong understanding of BGP, MPLS, IPv6, and other advanced networking protocols
  
  

This is a proposal position that will likely start in November 2024.

Salary: $120,000 - $155,000
