The Senior Manager of Product Marketing Innovation is a critical position will be responsible for guiding Solo Stove product strategy and developing the innovation roadmap for key product segments. The Sr. Manager Product Marketing will also be charged with leading new product development projects from idea generation to commercialization.
The ideal candidate will have a collaborative approach and develop close working partnerships with cross-functional teams including Brand, Engineering, Design, and Supply Chain. He/she will be responsible for development and decision making rooted in consumer insights and commercial opportunity. This individual will need to have a curious mind and the ability to problem solve to ensure project success. Finally, as an advocate for innovation, this candidate must possess a growth mindset and a passion for winning as a team.
Job Responsibilities and Scope
Effectively develop and commercialize the strategic projects within her/his areas of responsibility on time and in a manner that drives growth for the business
Analyzes competitive portfolios, IP/patents, pricing, and industry trends for areas of opportunity
Identify and size new opportunities for growth
Recommend pricing and manage Cost of Goods, and Gross Margins targets for new products
Develop PRDs, communicate features + Benefit overviews, and build competitive grids across key category segments
Validate opportunities using consumer qualitative and quantitative methods
Strengthen the processes & tools needed to be successful in our product development ambitions
Foster and build a culture of Innovation within Solo Stove
Ideal candidate attributes
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business required, MBA preferred
6+ years of new product development experience in consumer products including both idea development and commercialization
Experience leading product lifecycle management and creating product roadmaps within consumer durables
Experience in strong cross functional collaboration with Brand, Marketing, Engineering, Design, Finance, Manufacturing, and 3rd party suppliers
Creative, resourceful problem solving combined with an analytical and detail-oriented approach
Experience working with external agency partners (i.e. Strategy, Innovation, Design)
Strong communicator with exceptional negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel
