Responsibilities

• Works cross-functionally within Finance to build and measure financial plans and productivity forecasts on a global scale.
• Influences cross-banner work within Amazon and world-wide grocery partners through clear and concise communication to all audiences
• Provides guidance in partnership with leadership to identify and address evolving business needs with clear understanding of the implications to P&L for Whole Foods Market and across Amazon Grocery.
• Supports organizational efforts to manage operating expenses and other resources / costs.
• Provides decision support to senior leadership through creation of decision tools, models and ad-hoc analyses.
• Drives the globalization and standardization of Financial Analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Monitors industry and competition for potentially impactful financial and related business changes, trends and challenges
• Monitors functional activity and makes recommendations to leadership about load balancing, staffing levels, budget requirements, etc.

• Expert understanding of Financial Planning & Analysis concepts, principles and practices.
• Expert ability to compile, monitor, examine and audit financial statements, reports and accounts.
• Able to design financial analysis approaches and modeling specific to the retail business.
• Able to design and implement customer and store-by-store or region-by-region profitability systems and practices.
• Ensures team has access to and applies state-of-the art analytical processes, tools and understanding.
• Provides function-wide process advice and insight.
• Serves as thought leader and trusted advisor at the most senior levels of the organization.
• Recommends actions or alternatives to be taken by organizational leadership when financial data discloses unfavorable trends, deviations or financial mismanagement.
• Able to play a leadership role (formally and informally) working with others, in groups, in cross-functional settings and with diverse stakeholders internally and externally.
• Ensures effective work allocation across the team, engages with Team Members to ensure mutual understanding of responsibilities and accountabilities.
• Expert operational problem-solving skills with the ability to translate and explain complex Accounting, Financial and related systems to non-financial staff.
• Delivers recommendations that are strategic and long-term in nature, relating to business strategy, financial performance, and effective resource utilization.
• Leverages strategic understanding of WFM’s global business strategies to drive Financial Planning & Analysis focus and initiatives.

Education & Experience

• BA/BS degree and 8-10 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Graduate degree preferred.
