Job Summary/Description:

WANF is looking for a high-energy, skilled sports anchor/MMJ to join the Atlanta News First/ Peachtree Sports Network team. We go big covering the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves and so much more. You'll be involved in extensive coverage of all major sports and be a vital part of a dynamic team. In addition, this sports journalist will be key in special coverage for the rapidly-growing Peachtree Sports Network- the home of the Atlanta Dream, Atlanta Gladiators, Gwinnett Stripers, and many others.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce and anchor sports segments in weekend newscasts; fill-in anchor weekday sports as needed
  • Shoot, edit, report sports stories and segments for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms
  • Report live in the field
  • Host/ contribute to daily streaming sports talk show/ podcast
  • Develop sources and relationships to generate story leads, exclusive content, and breaking sports news
  • Operate camera and LiveU live shot equipment
  • Write stories for website and social media
  • Maintain sources and contacts to generate story ideas and exclusive content
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of on-air experience working in a television newsroom sports department
  • Significant live field experience and studio anchoring experience
  • Ability to shoot, edit, and produce high-quality sports content
  • Proven track record of producing quality digital and streaming sports content
  • A degree in journalism or a related communication field is preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure under tight deadlines in a high-energy working environment
  • Good communications skills, and the ability to effectively and efficiently manage time
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team, be coachable and open to feedback
  • Experience covering (and/or playing) the following PREFERRED: college football, NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, golf, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and other professional/ semi-professional sports
  • Scheduling flexibility is a must; Some travel REQUIRED
  • Must provide a link to samples of recent work including on-air (live and studio), full package, digital samples, video you shot and edited
