Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Sr. Accountant will be responsible for the effective oversight of key processes and ensuring company and client satisfaction, leading daily operations, including preparing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledgers, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, maintaining homeowner budgets, and other accounting responsibilities associated with homeowner bank accounts.

This is a unique position that requires heavy multi-tasking with the ability to perform the duties of the role in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent should be assertive, able to make decisions in the face of ambiguity, and comfortable communicating with key players within the company to help with understanding processes and procedure.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s mission -- specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.

Perform daily reconciliation of client bank accounts on a daily basis.

Ensure that all payable and receivable actions are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

Manage monthly eStatements and oversee secure document process.

Prepare and generate monthly financial reports and meet date each month.

Ensure that billing is generated, and statements processed in a timely fashion.

Ensure that collections are processed accurately.

Efficiently perform the duties associated with monthly financial reports to clients and properly loaded into all required systems and/or applications.

Review and monitor all accounting functions and processes.

Actively participate in meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives that support the organization’s growth goals.

Oversee and manage all necessary adjustments for the department to include overseeing time and attendance of the accounting employees on a continuous basis.

Follow all policies and procedures in place for the ‘checks and balances’ system.

Qualifications/requirements:

At least five years of accounting experience is required, accounting degree preferred.

Excellent attention to detail.

Comfortable with being a working manager

Ability to oversee the work of others

Excellent Communication

Able to work with a diverse group of people.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable making decisions in ambiguity.

Experience/Training:

Associate degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

40-hour work week from 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Must be comfortable and able to sit for extended hours throughout the shift daily.

Safety Hazards:

Minimal. General office working conditions.
