The brand is currently sold across the mass, value, food, drug, and ecommerce channels with 80% aided brand awareness, putting it in the top 3 best known hair care brands in the market today.

Position Summary

As the Senior Manager of Market Development, you will play a crucial role in

identifying, quantifying, and strategizing the launch of growth opportunities for

our client's brands beyond their core products, channels, and

geographies. Your responsibilities will encompass market research briefing and

analysis, financial opportunity assessment, and the development of comprehensive launch / go-to-market strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead market research (in partnership with Consumer Insights) to identify untapped growth opportunities for our client's brands and products.
  • Quantify market potential and assess the feasibility of expansion into new categories, channels, and geographies.
  • Develop comprehensive launch strategies for new products or market segments, including product assortment, language and regulatory requirements, pricing, positioning, distribution, strategic partners (brokers, manufacturers, distributors, etc), marketing support plans, and full financial case.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including innovation, marketing sales, product development, supply chain, and finance to execute launch strategies effectively.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer insights to inform ongoing strategy development and refinement.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the success of market development initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for future actions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on market development trends and best practices, providing guidance and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Foster relationships with external partners and vendors to support market expansion efforts.

Primary Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in market development, go-to-market, strategic planning, or related roles within the consumer goods industry.
  • Proven track record of identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to generate insights from ambiguity and prioritize across initiatives.
  • Strength in mining large data sets for insights and recommendations, and summarizing in management-ready presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop actionable plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in market research methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of the beauty and personal care is a plus.
  • Willingness to be in Hackensack office 2-3 days/week and travel as needed.
  • Positive and energetic individual with a strong business acumen, and strong sense of urgency to achieve results.
