Internship Program

The Strategic Capital internship is an 8-week program (June-July). As an intern, you will work alongside the Strategic Capital team as they research opportunistic private investments in dynamic real estate platforms and seek to deliver enhanced returns by providing nimble capital to growth companies across property sectors and the capital stack. Strategic Capital makes platform-level and special situation investments in real estate companies that allow the team to evaluate valuations, business plans, and transaction rationale at the property level as well as understand and analyze corporate finance / structuring considerations. The internship will be based in CenterSquare’s Conshohocken, PA office and is an in-office position.

Description

• Receive on the job training and will be given special projects as well as daily responsibilities to support the team
• Participate in portfolio meetings and investment committee meetings
• Participate in local tours of assets, when available
• Assist with performing in-depth analysis on real estate assets, management companies, sectors, and securities in both the public and private markets to evaluate investment decisions
• Assist with the preparations of internal and external memoranda
• Assist with the due diligence process on new investments
• Attend lunch and learn sessions to gain an understanding of how the firm operates
• Exposure to senior leaders
• Each intern will be assigned a buddy or mentor
• Social, networking activities will occur over the course of the summer
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong academic background and GPA, majoring in finance, accounting or economics
• A keen interest in real estate, the stock market and/or macroeconomic events
• Superior knowledge of excel required (i.e. vlookups, macros and index)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Outgoing personality, demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task
