Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific!

The Streaming Media Assistant is part of a Streaming Media Operations team staffed 24/7. These individuals routinely provide live, hands-on operational and procedural support for our partner products, including system health monitoring and incident management, in addition to live and VOD streaming media orchestration using Proprietary software.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform routine assignments (data entry, spreadsheet management, etc.).
  • Execute remedial operations for live and on-demand operational workflows.
  • Ensure content blackout compliance against contractual obligations and partner communications, via audits and/or manual implementation - update, verify, validate, and send blackout notifications to technical and programming contacts.
  • Supervise and confirm basic health and functionality of front-end facing features.
  • Run automated & manual processes to verify media is available on content delivery networks & through applications themselves.
  • Utilize publishing controls for media availability.
  • Operate proprietary software for media orchestration.
  • Set up specific workflows for accurate stream on client devices.
  • Monitor applications to validate media source availability & overall health of system server, network traffic load distribution.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate support resources, and filing incident tickets as needed to track metrics related to outages.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong understanding of computers and applications.
  • Must have an exemplary attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Must possess solid organizational skills.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
  • Must have a strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • High school degree or degree equivalent.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • A proven computer and technical background, with experience working in digital media and online organizations.
  • Familiarity with streaming and broadcast media, particularly HTTP Live Streaming (HLS).
  • A great teammate who is enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to troubleshoot efficiently.
  • A minimum of 1-year relevant working experience.


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $43,000 - $57,900 per year and in New York, NY is $44,200 - $60,700 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
