The Systems Engineering Technician II performs assembly build, testing and troubleshooting of integrated electronic and electro-mechanical systems. Interprets blueprints and schematics; and performs Final Test.
Essential Job Functions
Operates programmable auto-testers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital meters, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and other various test instrumentation and special test fixtures.
Identifies acceptable and defective assemblies, components, and instruments.
Reworks assemblies or systems or return items for repair.
Performs basic test troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Analyzes test results and presents findings.
Monitors failures and setup problems and determines need for appropriate verification.
Works with leaders and support teams to develop testing procedures and strategies, and makes improvements to processes and products.
Assists with training or backup to production team when needed.
Routinely demonstrates technical writing ability in marking-up test procedures and generating test reports.
Prepares test/inspection reports as required.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Other Job Functions
Complies with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Complies with HSE policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Participates with job rotation to meet business and customer needs supporting multiple programs.
Maintains the highest standards for Safety, Quality and Housekeeping.
Works overtime as needed, including off days, nights and weekends.
Assists and trains team members when needed.

Requirements:
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED
Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics or related field preferred
Experience
Minimum four years of experience in the assembly of high-tech components
Prior experience in the inspection of electro-mechanical components
Prior experience in the manufacturing for a military contractor
SKILLS And QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance
Ability to read and comprehend documents, including drawings and schematics
Ability to examine drawings and work orders to determine work duties
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form
Effective interpersonal and problem solving skills
Ability to function under stress and interact cordially with co-workers to accomplish common tasks
Proficiency in MS Office products and email; basic math and reading comprehension
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet business needs
Ability to troubleshoot, identify issues and assess impacts of non-conforming product
Ability to communicate and perform effectively with others
Ability to maintain detailed record keeping
Ability to assess quality of own work
Physical And Other Requirements
Able to sit or stand for 10 hour shifts to perform repetitive actions using mechanical and powered tools. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. without mechanical assist. Works with small components, manual dexterity. Occasional stooping and bending.
