Position Summary:

The University Lecturer/Senior University Lecturer position requires teaching 12 credits each semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. NJIT has recently expanded its graduate programs to Jersey City, just across the Hudson River from the financial district of Lower Manhattan in New York City, where it serves the many working professionals in that region. Instructional staff are expected to teach at this site as needed.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

Successful candidates must have an MS in a computing related area. Outstanding candidates in information science, information technology, and other computational areas will also be considered. Five (or more) years of IT industrial experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior University teaching experience is an advantage, as is significant industrial experience. The formal education and experience prerequisites may be waived at the university’s discretion if the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
