Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to engage with federal, state, and local government officials on issues related to school safety
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact the school safety industry and provide timely analysis to internal stakeholders
- Cultivate relationships with key policymakers, education associations, and advocacy groups to advance Raptor’s policy priorities
- Represent the company at meetings, hearings, and conferences with government officials and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop advocacy materials, including policy briefs, position statements, and testimony
- Provide guidance and support to sales and marketing teams on government-related initiatives and opportunities
- Track and report on government relations activities, including lobbying expenditures and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in government relations and school safety policy
- Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 20 years total experience with at least 10 in government relations, lobbying, or public affairs, with a focus on education issues
- Strong understanding of the legislative process at the federal, state, and local levels; multi-state experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of school safety policies, programs, and initiatives preferred
- Experience working with education associations, school districts, or government agencies is a plus
- Commitment to our mission of creating safe and supportive learning environments for all students
- Preference will be given to candidates with a deep network in our industry and experience with policy creation, lobbying and/or managing lobbyists, and creating or managing a corporate legislative program
