We are seeking a Vice President of Luxury Hotels and Mixed-Use Development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a central and critical part in identifying new opportunities, structuring deals, and successfully closing transactions for luxury hotels and co-located residences. Your expertise will contribute to the growth strategy of our company, ensuring the maintenance and advancement of the quality and brand equity of our Lodging System. As the Vice President of Development, you will establish and nurture relationships with hotel owners, both new and existing, while championing new business opportunities that build brand equity and drive customer preference.
As the Vice President of Development, your primary responsibilities will include:
Reviewing and analyzing potential luxury hotel conversion, new-build, or acquisition opportunities, as well as co-located residential opportunities for integration into our brand systems.
Overseeing all aspects of the hotel development process, including site inspections, feasibility studies, and valuations, to ensure the successful approval of opportunities.
Owning the underwriting process for proposed co-located residential projects, including market studies and valuations.
Collaborating with the legal department to negotiate terms and conditions of various agreements.
Providing guidance on risk mitigation based on experience with residential projects.
Working closely with our Treasury and Project Finance departments to maximize returns on investments.
Assisting owners and developers in identifying and securing financing for hotel acquisition or construction.
Attending public hearings and meetings with regulatory agency officials to secure necessary approvals.
Sharing leads for other brand or product opportunities within our organization.
Participating in the resolution of workout situations, if required.
Tracking the competitive landscape in target markets and identifying brand positioning opportunities.

**Experience**
To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have
Ten or more years of real estate development, luxury hotel, and/or residential industry experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships both internally and externally.
Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, coupled with an enthusiastic and proactive approach to your professional life.
A mature and professional demeanor, capable of expressing confident and independent judgment.
A strong contact base and an excellent reputation in the hotel investment and development sector.
Familiarity with capital markets.

**Education or Certification**
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Real Estate, Hotel Administration, or Business. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
