Exciting Leadership Opportunity in Educational Asset Management
Overview
Join a prestigious educational organization situated on a prominent island within the Boston Harbor Islands National Park. The location spans 204 acres, rich with diverse ecosystems and modern amenities such as dormitories, dining facilities, classrooms, and recreational spaces. We are currently seeking a dedicated Vice President (VP) of Asset Management to oversee our island operations and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management:
Lead the management of diverse assets including buildings, land, and equipment across the island, main office, dock, and a potential urban site.
Insurance Management
Collaborate with insurance brokers to oversee various insurance contracts related to property, liability, and worker compensation.
Vendor Oversight
Manage vendor relationships and ensure competitive procurement processes for all contracts.
Housing Equity Strategies
Develop and implement housing strategies for employees.
Hospitality Services
Supervise hospitality services, including food and beverage offerings, for island visitors.
Facilities And Grounds Maintenance
Ensure the upkeep of facilities, fleet, and grounds with a focus on sustainable practices.
Collaboration
Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and support educational programs on the island.
Sales And Events Management
Guide sales activities for educational programs on the island and oversee event planning.
Qualifications
Leadership and Management: Ability to set priorities, manage staff effectively, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Experience: 7-10+ years in management or leadership roles, preferably in real estate or hospitality.
Flexibility: Willingness to work as needed on the island year-round.
Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication abilities.
Collaboration: Skilled at building relationships across organizational levels.
Customer Satisfaction: Experience in managing and enhancing customer experience.
Fiscal Management: Understanding of budgeting, expenses, and revenue forecasting.
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of Tripleseat is a plus.
Work Conditions And Benefits
Location and Travel:
Must reside in Metropolitan Boston and work on the island for most of the year.
Travel assistance provided for transportation to the island.
Physical Requirements
Involves lifting packages up to 25 pounds off moving docks.
A criminal background check is required.
