About This Role

The Web Content Specialist is responsible for creating engaging storytelling and high quality graphics to promote the College and its programs. Guides departments in developing dynamic web and digital content for department websites, promotions, and events. Updates and modifies web content and layout to improve functionality and fine-tune messaging based on web analysis.

What a day of a Web Content Specialist looks like:

  • Develops innovative written and graphic content and maintains design and layout of website to support the College’s image, identity, and brands. Creates stories to engage audiences and increase market penetration.
  • Collaborates with department and college representatives to create and produce engaging storytelling to market the College and program offerings on websites. Recommends enhancements and modifications, branding, and content changes to departments’ websites.
  • Creates visually rich, compelling, and effective content that draws together interactive multimedia features such as text, sound, graphics, digital and analog photographs, 2D and 3D modeling, animation, video, and information to provide engaging storytelling.
  • Reviews and edits content to conform with the College’s branding and editorial standards. Examines websites to ensure comprehensive information is accurate and easily available to current and prospective students, the public, faculty, and staff.
  • Ensures that the College's websites are compliant with government regulations and mandates including ADA web accessibility standards and guidelines.
  • Repairs broken internal and external links. Troubleshoots and resolves publishing issues and failures.
  • Assists with developing web analytics. Implements changes or modifications to websites based on analytical findings.
  • Analyzes website technology trends to identify new techniques and ensure optimal site design. Stays abreast of modern technologies in the field to create innovative approaches for improving end-user experience.
  • Collaborates with digital media and print teams to ensure cohesive messaging is presented on all platforms for programs and College offerings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:

Education And Experience:

  • Associates degree
  • Two years of related experience

Knowledge Of:

  • Modern Campus OmniUpdate or similar Web Content Management software Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
  • Adobe Creative Suite or similar applications
  • Graphic and video image editing software
  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled In:

  • Website design and media production
  • Writing in a positive manner to reflect favorably upon the organization
  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Delivering a high level of customer service

Ability To:

  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, Or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required

  • Bachelors degree

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $20.47 hourly; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience
