The Retail Website Manager oversees the overall functions of VeraBradley.com and VeraBradleyOutlet.com operations, always keeping the customer experience a priority. The web manager will implement SEO strategies to increase engagement, improve search results, and increase traffic and overall conversions. This leader is passionate and sets the tone for the high energy & fast paced environment of the eCommerce team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  • Evaluate, monitor, and implement optimization of content, images, and all elements on the website to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Plan and audit content on the website on a regular basis and connect with key stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, timely and relevant.
  • Continually work to improve the performance and functionality and optimize content on the website to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Identify performance issues and resolve with input from UX and IT teams
  • Maintain and improve functionality of the website (site search, navigation, broken links, load times)
  • Using SEO best practices, implement changes throughout the website to improve and demonstrate results, increase traffic and overall conversion.
  • Implement AI tools to improve website search results and implement changes
  • Advise content creators on best practices for SEO on web
  • Manage GA tools in conjunction with eCommerce data analyst to make improvements to website experience
  • Develop short, long-term plan for web maintenance and optimization
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports demonstrating outcomes from website improvements
  • Seek out and take advantage of opportunities for professional development and stay attuned to the evolution of AI and website trends
  • Lead, Manage, and Set objectives for the Website Team.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Website Team, fostering creativity and growth.
  • Responsible for managing schedules for all Website Team Members
  • Conducts regular team meetings.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of eComm Operations.
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Create and maintain strong partnerships with external agencies and vendors to support Website initiatives.
  • Confer with the VP of Marketing & Ecommerce to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
  • Develops problem solution and implements corrective actions.
  • Review inventory and sales records to prepare reports for management and key stake holders.
  • Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Responsible for partnering with Creative team to ensure the retail website imagery is consistent with brand standards.
  • Works with outside vendors to maximize SEO and sales traffic to retail website.
  • Track, analyzes, and reports on key operational metrics.
  • Responsible for partnering with IT for management and upkeep of all aspects of the back end of the website.
  • Collaborate with team members from other departments such as merchandising, merchandise planning, marketing, and product development.
  • Generate reports daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly for leadership that quantify improvements to the website
  • Monitor the website for security breaches and respond appropriately and troubleshoot to resolve issues.

Education And/Or Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in digital/ecommerce website management (Shopify Platform experience a plus!)
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics (strong GA4 experience)
  • Track record of leading high performing growth-oriented ecommerce teams.
  • Experience with site merchandising and ability to determine impact of changes
  • Demonstrate EQ to influence decision making without necessary authority.
  • Working knowledge of customer journey best practices to ensure optimal customer experience
  • Ability to support A/B tests to find conclusive results that drive change.

  • Leads the way for change across organization by motivating and engaging peers and staff to support and facilitate change
  • Creates a supportive environment for associates to demonstrate new capabilities and behaviors. Shapes developmental roles and stretch assignments to balance individual and organizational needs.
  • Advocates movement of talent throughout organization. Identifies top talent to build succession pipeline
  • Contributes to the development of the functional strategy; executes business plan
  • Excellent PC skills including Word and Power Point, advanced Excel
