- Strategic thinking is all about looking at the big picture, understanding the long-term goals and objectives of the organization, and aligning HR initiatives to support those goals. As an example, your organization is looking to expand into new markets. As an HR professional, strategic thinking would involve considering how to attract and retain talent in those new markets, developing training programs to ensure employees have the skills they need to succeed, and anticipating potential challenges or roadblocks along the way. By thinking strategically, you're able to anticipate the needs of the organization, and proactively address them, rather than simply reacting to problems as they arise. But strategic thinking doesn't stop there. You also need to anticipate potential challenges that could arise during the expansion process. Maybe there are cultural differences in the new markets that could impact employee morale, or perhaps there are regulatory hurdles that need to be addressed…
