A panel of Sports experts were this am were stating how the stadium experience gets all the hype when over 99% of fans never set foot inside. Jonathan Sumers, VP of the Cleveland Cavaliers, gets it: "Over 99% of our fans will never come to a live game. That goes hand in hand with what is bringing in the revenue from a digital standpoint."
We're living in a digital age where connectivity defines our experiences. Sports, too, have evolved beyond the stadium seats. At FanTrivia, we've recognized the potential of engaging fans at home. From live streaming to interactive apps, we're on a mission to make the game accessible to all.
Jonathan gave all of us listening a reality check – the majority of fans are tuning in from their couches, not the bleachers. It's a call to action for sports organizations to ensure they're delivering in the digital realm.
Enter live trivia games – a winning play in the realm of fan engagement. FanTrivia helps our partners hit the bullseye by creating an immersive experience that transcends the physical boundaries of the stadium. It's like bringing the tailgate party straight to the living room, in a way fans love.
The games aren't just about answering questions; they're about creating a community, bringing people at home together and interacting with the host. Fans become active participants, not just spectators. The thrill of competition, the camaraderie of shared knowledge, and the chance to win cool prizes – it's a triple threat that keeps fans hooked.
Other ways broadcasters, teams and leagues have made the at-home experience more personal:
- Virtual Tailgate Parties: Picture this – fans from around the world joining a virtual tailgate before a big game. It's not just about discussing tactics; it's about forging connections.
- Real-time Challenges: During timeouts or breaks, throw in quick challenges. Whether it's predicting the next play or showcasing the best team spirit, these challenges keep fans on their toes. Trivia is great too :)
- Exclusive Content Access: Offer exclusive behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and sneak peeks to those engaging in your trivia games. Make them feel like VIPs, even if they're miles away.
In a world where inclusivity matters more than ever, FanTrivia is on a mission to ensure every fan feels like they're a part of the action, regardless of their physical location.

2moSome good points here. I’d add that sports tech investors need to fully consider the symbiotic relationship needed between product+content+data …. If you only understand or cater for one, then you’re going to miss something vitally important.. I’ve been at the intersection of this conundrum for over a decade.. and I’ve seen many, many people make the mistake of only doing one, and it always ends in pain..
