COVID accelerated the evolution of experiential to a more inclusive and geo-agnostic marketing tool. Post pandemic, we are partnering with forward-thinking brands to develop campaigns that truly span offline to online, engaging audiences across all channels and increasing the impact, reach and results. A big thank you to our partner, Kohl's, for the privilege of working with them on their biggest launch of the year for their new Home Collection.  We kicked off the activation nationwide with a digital "vision board" building experience and sweepstakes, incentivizing over 158,000 people to play to win. This digital experience led the activation across e-commerce, social media, and influencer marketing. We then brought the experience in-person in NYC as a physical pop-up which the brand leveraged as their press announcement, as an organic content factory where 60 influencers streamed and posted content and engaged and entertained over 1,000 consumers.    The future of experiential is exciting in that it can lead the omnichannel execution and deliver novel experiences for press and influencers and engage consumer audiences more deeply and richly from wherever they may be. #experiential #omnichannel #digitalexperiences #influencermarketing #events

Can Shaquille O’Neal market anything? The 7’1 NBA legend is adding PepsiCo and Reebok back to his extensive list of influencer partnerships and endorsements with a new promotion — The Pepsi ‘Sneak’er. Here’s what’s happened: Pepsi partnered with Reebok (thanks to their President of Basketball, Shaq himself) to promote a pair exclusive of Reebok Pumps custom-built to fit a Pepsi mini can into the heel. → Shaq wears a size 22, so they’re running a sweepstakes to give away 22 pairs to consumers. Pepsi is leaning hard into the nostalgia play with Shaq and his Reeboks, which he made notorious in the 90s during his NBA career. Shaq also appeared in Pepsi commercials at that time, further nodding to their long-standing relationship. → The cola wars haven’t restarted, they’ve just changed. Consumers have never had more drink options (sparkling waters, healthy sodas, etc.). Media has never been more distributed (social, influencers, traditional). A massive brand like Pepsi has to continue pulling out the big guns to stay ahead and stay relevant — I think this collaboration with Shaq is a winner. → Yes a sweepstakes is commonplace for big CPG brands, but that’s the whole point. The collaboration is on-brand for the celebrity, in this case, one of the most diversified athletes and personalities on the planet. On the product side, Pepsi noted an increased demand for smaller pack sizes, which adds a sensible business element to this awareness play. As for the Shaq portion — you’ve never watched TV without seeing Shaq in a promotion: → Gold Bond → Papa John’s → The General → Icy Hot → Buick → Oreo → Krispy Kreme → The list goes on forever In a macro-influencer world where creative ROI is being taken a lot more seriously, it’s cool to see a campaign where it looks like all parties decided to have fun and still deliver an effective campaign. The power of the pop-up - is the impact still there and should you use it? Yes, if recent trends are anything to go by, the appetite for experiential brand activations like pop-ups is back and stronger than ever before. With brands such as Burberry taking over a café, Pinterest’s reimagined high street corner shop, and Lush’s Barbie shop, it’s clear that getting up close and personal with your favourite brand is important to consumers. Although the demand for experiences is not new, it’s the new-age force of influencer marketing that can help propel your pop-up and generate interest beyond your physical reach. This week, together with our client Pleo, we created a Copenhagen-style house pop-up inside London’s Bank Station, to help spread some joy to the morning commute. This case example of brand storytelling is amusing and humorous and I like it. But what I appreciate even more than the creative is how central the actual *product* is in repositioning. Because your brand is not, in the end, what your ad creative says it is. Your brand is the sum of the actual experiences consumers have with your product, service, and content.
