FROM RAVAGE TO RECOVERY: A Testament of Hope 🌟 Some months ago, I was part of a dedicated medical team faced with a daunting challenge: a 12 year old female child who was critically ill, her health hanging by the thinnest thread. A race against time, but we were resolute in our mission to bring this young life back from the edge. Through tireless efforts and multidisciplinary teamwork, we watched as this child's condition slowly transformed. We watched her struggle to summon the resolve to live again on most days. There were days we saw no visible progress and there were days we witnessed tangible improvements. One routine through another, multiple re-assurance & counseling to our patient as well as family members, a little over 3 months on hospital admission, we watched this child gradually get up to her feet again. In the medical profession, we encounter several challenging situations, critically ill patients, to varying degrees. We’ve lost some, we’ve shed a tear or three. But this…this was a testimony for the books. This story isn't just about a medical team; it's about the strength of a child and the unyielding support of their family. It's a reminder that, in the face of adversity, hope and determination can overcome even the most daunting challenges. As I script this piece, I'm reminded again of why I chose a career in medicine. It's about making a difference, no matter how small or grand, in the lives of those we serve. It's about holding onto hope, even when circumstances seem dire. 🌈 #MedicalMiracles #HopeInHealthcare #TeamworkTriumphs I was privileged to work with this team of health professionals on this case. Incredibly #Proud of our team at Quinte Health and how they have embraced this new model of care. The operational results speak for themselves, but one of the #SideBets we made during the #DesingPhase was that this model would act as a recruitment tool for our community. Fast forward 16-months from launch: it worked :) #AlwaysImproving #LiveKaizen #ProcessEngineering
When Quinte Health redeveloped our model of care to include Clinical Assistants, we knew many of our hires would not be with us for long as they moved on with their career journey, but we are so happy that some are staying in the Community! https://lnkd.in/eZRSwzt7
