Love this work from Kelsey Jobalia. Getting customer feedback is one of the best parts of the job, and it's especially awesome when folks like Dan invite us stop into Red White & Que Smokehouse to capture it on camera. I put my favorite quote below -- Dan's humility makes him a great partner and leader in the restaurant industry. "I've been doing this for almost 8 years now and I think I've got a pretty good system, but I've been testing ClearCOGS with what I'd normally do compared to what they tell me to put on. To Day is National BBQ day (US) Although the concept of barbecuing did not originate in America, the activity has become an essential part of American culture today. The history of barbecuing in the U.S. goes back to colonial times where any celebration was incomplete without a cookout. After the Revolutionary War was won and the first bridge was built over the Missouri River, barbecue celebrations erupted all over the nation. Even the American presidents are famous for hosting massive barbecues during times of success and on days of special observances. In fact, George Washington’s diary is said to have referenced a barbecue event that lasted for three days — that’s how deeply rooted barbecuing is in the country’s history! Barbecues are a White House tradition thanks to President Lyndon B. Johnson who started this trend by hosting the first-ever barbecue in the presidential headquarters. It’s Friday the 13th and I’m feelin’ lucky. No fears of triskaidekaphobia here, although my rabbits foot keychain … … is in my front pocket since I awoke. I’m avoiding mirrors, tables seating 13, I threw beer salt over my left shoulder, and later, I won’t be the 13th droid at the bar. But I’m not superstitious 😳 Regardless of its scientific classification, triskaidekaphobia is an age-old and pervasive fear. It is commonly linked to the early Christians, as the number 13 appears in certain Biblical traditions. For example, there were 13 people present at the Last Supper, Jesus and his 12 Apostles. 3 weeks in and really impressed with the teams in all these stores. Change can have an adverse affect on people so it is important to go into this new challenge prepared. People develop attachments to the current state of affairs, whether it's a work environment, relationships, or personal habits. Change threatens these attachments, leading to resistance. Managing change in a business is essential for growth, innovation, and staying competitive. Leaders play a crucial role in guiding employees through the process. They should lead by example, demonstrate enthusiasm for the change, and provide the necessary support and resources. The senior team in these stores have helped to manage this while being lead from the front by Rob Hebron The key thing to managing this transition will be keeping employees informed throughout the process. Being transparent about the reasons for the change, what it entails, and how it will impact individuals and the organization as a whole. McDonald’s is unrivalled in its training and reporting so we have the tools to ensure all levels of employee are kept aware of changes needed. Involving employees in the planning and decision-making process. Solicit their input, addressing their concerns, and making them feel like active participants in the change. Reinvestment in not only the building and equipment but in the people is fundamental to our success. Rewarding those who show the ethics behind our business and help to continue the improvement processes we need to remain competitive. Really looking forward to seeing this group grow and get the rewards the newly ignited focus gains them.
