Ghost job posting alert at Apple! My fellow UX Writers out there, how often has this “UX Writer position at a company in Cupertino” been reposted? I’ve had dozens of recruiters over the past year reach out regarding the role and then, radio silence. To be clear, I have over 5 years of UX Writing experience and a solid portfolio. I think it’s time to start flagging down definite ghost job postings. It makes zero sense to bring on a UX Writer for just a few months. No way someone can adapt and make an impact in such a short time. Companies need to be mindful of precious applicant time and our intellectual property. Don’t give us false hope. Lastly, stop offering contract work for anyone in Content Design—rude. 😢 #ghostjob #ghostjobposting #layoffs2024 #uxwriter #uxdesign #apple #contentdesigner
We are seeking a highly experienced UX Writer to work with our product design team at Apple in a contract position. Our team designs the apps used by Apple retail employees globally, so our user audience is extensive, and the impact of the work we do is far-reaching! We're looking for someone who loves words and language and has strong feelings about style, grammar, tone, and voice. The only thing that rivals your passion for language is your passion for great user experiences. You advocate for clear, concise UI, and champion writing and design that supports both the content and user. You do all this by working closely with product design teammates and other cross-functional partners. The role is a temporary, contract position for a team based in Cupertino, CA, but remote is okay for this role. Any experience working on learning, information, or retail apps is a plus! If you or someone you know is interested, please share your info and a link to portfolio/work examples in this thread. Do NOT send direct messages. We will reach out to candidates that seem like a good fit.

🤦♂️ (kind of) A rant from my personal experience - This is a great illustration of the problem with 99% of job boards and job alerts out there - lack of relevance. "UX Writer" is a completely different job from "UX Designer", and I am not interested, at all (no offence, UX Writers =) I love y'all ☺️). Almost all job boards use a simple matching of the job titles and generic keywords like "UX" or "Design", and the result is terrible. I am solving this problem (and a few others) with the highest bar for job posting quality control - by manually checking every single posting I add. Yes, it's tedious and slow, but automated search queries are not that smart (yet). So, you are either bombarded with dozens of emails with hundreds of irrelevant jobs to find a handful of good ones... OR you follow https://UXRemotely.com to receive the highest quality of jobs for UX/Product Design roles (only remote). #UXJobs #ProductJobs #UXDesign #ProductDesign #RemoteJobs #Remote #HiringDesigners #NowHiring #Global #WFHJobs #UX #Jobs #RemoteUSA #RemoteCanada #RemoteWork #Talent #TalentList #Candidates

Founder - Zero Loss | Working towards Zero Waste, Zero Loss and Low polluted society | Sustainability | Gogreen | savenature | love for Environment
2225 Phone calls in a month to form a team with Zero Rupees!!! My story of forming a team is super crazy! Initially, I was only looking for a job on Hirect. So that I can earn money before building a great team for Zero Loss. But the twist here - Soon I registered as an employer instead of an employee because we are a registered company and I saw so many people looking for on Hirect That's when I thought - Arrey! I could use this platform to hire for Zero Loss! So to test that, I posted job listings seeking UI/UX designers and content writers. And I received 100+ applications! I interviewed all of them. By the end, I found myself explaining the concept of Zero Loss in 30 to 40-minute calls, and sharing our vision with potential candidates with clarity. I was talking to so many people on a single day. I checked on an app and the analytics confirmed the volume—it was massive. Surprisingly, the conversations didn't tire me; instead, they fueled my passion for Zero Loss. Sharing my ideas for the first time and receiving positive feedback was exciting. To me, Zero Loss is about bringing together passionate people ✅ From diverse backgrounds, ✅ Ages and ✅ Locations that share a common goal of environmental betterment. It's about showing how even the smallest actions can create significant impacts. Within weeks, a team of 15 members was formed. ▶UI/UX designers ▶ web developers ▶content writers, and ▶a strategic team Before we even started to market our product. Because they have faith in our vision ❣ Maintaining such a large, unpaid team is challenging. Motivating them without tangible results or compensation is difficult. But with the right people and the right vision, I am here to do what it takes. I invite you to stay tuned for more updates on our journey with Zero Loss. Let's continue making a difference together!

Coming from a software industry background and thinking of joining GM? Reach out, I’ll give you the inside scoop on the culture and how they approach design
Wow. What a time to be at GM. The last 7 months have been a delightful career turn for me. We have a new VP of interface design who I admire greatly and my own leader (Emily Bowman) who is a champion for all things great design. And I'm ecstatic to be hiring 4 FTE UX Writers. These are senior to lead roles and require product specific experience. These roles extend across our vehicle, mobile app, and design system. They are critical to our success. And I'm committed to building a world-class writing practice. The best and only way to be considered is to apply below. If there's a match, you'll be hearing from Greg Christman.

Does such talent exist on the market? I'm hiring for a unique type of talent into the team that who can do wireframe / prototyping quickly using UI/UX design tool such as Figma, meanwhile he/she should be having the in-depth know-how of AI or Machine Learning (which means better he/she is originated from tech background but have an outstanding aesthetic appreciation capability.). I'm not sure whether such talent would exist on the market. But I do know I definitely don't want to hire two separate individuals to create 10x communication burden trying to let artist/designer and geek talking at same channel.

Would you trust a single person to architect your building, run community consultations and planning approvals, design the interior, paint the walls, install the electrics, and pour the concrete foundations? Whilst this might work if you’re constructing a wooden shack in a remote location, it won't work if you’re building an award winning, carbon neutral, multi-story commercial and residential building in central London. So why do some people think you can build a unicorn tech company and brand without specialist team members. Quite simply you can’t, even though we throw around titles like hybrid UX/UI Designers and jack-of-all-trade Product Designers. Yes, these professionals might be able to get you started, but you’ll soon hit a proficiency ceiling with many (no pun intended). This idea that you must hire everyone in your team on a full-time basis is also a myth. Hiring specialist designers on a short-term basis can help bring in the expertise you need to build exceptional, market-leading products. Here’s a list of industry specialist roles you might need, even in short bursts: UX Researcher, UX Architect, UI Designer, Visual Designer, Creative Director, Brand Designer, Service Designer, Design System (UI) Engineer, Interaction Designer, Motion Designer, Content Designer, Copywriter.

Curious to hear from full-time internal UX Researchers about the state of support and resources available to you in your current positions. Through all of these lay-offs I'm wondering if the workload has shifted at all. Is there more or less work coming to you and your team? Do you have budget to bring on new tools or freelancers? Do you have budget for hiring additional full-time researchers? As a freelancer I've mostly worked with Product Leadership, Design, Product Management, Product Marketing, and I'm curious if there are any opportunities to support overloaded full-time Researchers. Maybe a short term contract is easier to get approved, and would allow you additional resources for executing strategic or tactical research, managing research ops, establishing research practices, etc. without having to get budget approved for a FT hire. Let me know if you want to chat more! #uxresearch #fulltime #freelance #budget
