"The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn" Our Asahi Europe & International colleagues have put these wise words by Ralph Waldo Emerson in practice over the past months by coming together and volunteering to plant trees and bushes in two villages near Prague: Jeneč and Úholičky. In all, 36 colleagues participated in 3 tree planting events, planting 47 trees and 157 bushes through our valued partnership with Sázíme stromy, whose expertise and enthusiasm contributed to this success. We plan to continue planting trees this coming Autumn – helping to create the forests of the future while fostering a sense of community and teamwork. A huge thank you to all colleagues who took part. Let's keep growing together! #WeAreAsahi #Legacy2030 #SázímeStromy

*** July 29 - We have come to another Global Tiger Day. *** In the recent past we say that Tiger numbers have gone up (it may not be actual population increase, but accuracy of our estimation exercise has improved). *** Historically, we have lost 96% of the wild Tiger population. Now we have just 4500+ Tigers in the wild globally. Inspite of all our best efforts, we continue to loose wild Tigers at an average of 103 in a year. *** The theme we have given this year is "Do not say NO to the Tiger, but KNOW the Tiger". Once we know the Tiger better, we will appreciate them more, raise our voice and act to protect them along with our State Forests & Wildlife Departments. *** Only if the Tiger is protected, we will have a healthy forest ecosystem. A healthy forest ecosystem can sustain us humans by providing us clean air and water, regulate our weather, provide us honey, gooseberry etc, give tourism and livelihood opportunities etc. *** WWF strives to raise more Tiger Ambassadors by observing Global Tiger Day under our People4Planet (Volunteers) program. Come join us. If not you, who? If not now, when?

From Conscious Business to Conscious Giving Back It is naturally in the field of Conscious Business that I meet experienced business women and men who, after successfully building up one or more companies, are launching a next project, a project with a content that is particularly close to their hearts. A project for the common good. A project with which they want to give back to nature, to the community,... A higher-purposeful project like this may be first initiated by a single person's call to giving back – however it may be designed so that many more people can get involved and increase the impact of the cause. Many hearts getting touched, excited, wanting to support. Today I would like to introduce you to a project that too can touch us all and, in a broader sense, does concern us all. Panambi, an initiative by Silvia Hagen and the Panambi Association, was created to preserve and reforest rainforest in Paraguay, to provide a protected space for species and variety diversity, to foster cooperation between cultures, ... You can find many more sensible arguments and heartwarming benefits for the project on the website www.panambi.org Silvia impresses me with her great clarity and sensitivity, which a project and the people in it need so that “it flows well”. (Solving seemingly unsolvable IT network problems used to be her specialty). Even within first steps and results of the Panambi projects' this clarity and heart-opening quality is palpable. There are often flashes of the magic that nature unfolds when you walk with it, learn from it and appreciate it. If you would like to hear more about the project and meet Silvia in person, you are very welcome to join one of these Zoom calls · On Monday, August 12th at 5:30 pm cet · On Tuesday, August 13th at 8 pm cet Just send me a private note, that you would like to attend, so I can send you the Zoom link on time. Greetings with pleasant anticipation Meike Let’s Butterfly meike@meikenittel.com #consciousgivingback #consciousbusiness #reforestation

This was definitely the coolest day I've had at Savimbo. We did a corporate board presentation to the smallfarmers, then they signed equity paperwork. We were founded by, and for, smallfarmers in the Colombian Amazon to access climate markets directly. We've told them from the start that this was their company, but trust takes time, and I don't think it really sank in till now. When Fernando and Jhony and I and the Savimbo team gave a full corporate board presentation to our most important shareholders, what we did in the last year, who got paid, and why, and why it mattered. How they have become a global symbol for grassroots conservation. How all across the world people are following in their footsteps. How their biodiversity credit is basing an entire market. And when they signed the documents that made them partial owners of the company, you could see it on their faces. https://lnkd.in/evwuPa2N Savimbo is a company that was founded by them, fights for them. With them. For the things they care about in climate. That is dedicated to rewarding them for 20 years of unpaid activism at real personal risk in one of the most biodiverse zones in the world. https://lnkd.in/e5RnNv22 I'll give you the truth. I get a lot of public attention and personal connections for my work with Savimbo. But it doesn't matter to me at all compared to the respect of my real climate partners. These guys don't trust easy, and they don't respect easy. They have been screwed over by institutions, and white people, and external forces their whole lives. But they put what they had into our company. They stood up for their animals, and their river, and their forests when no one else did. They put real skin in the game. And I respect them too. ##climatechange #climateclock #actintime #climatecrisis #sustainability #climateactivism #activism #climatechange #ecoanxiety #lateristoolate #climatejustice #fairtrade #esg #environment #sustainability #sdg #savimbo #climate

In my first week here in Kaleyra I have already had the opportunity to discover that here words match actions. Read more in the post below about this beautiful initiative conceived by Pietro Calogero. #ESG #AMSAalltogether #sustainability
Here at Kaleyra, we strive every day to match words with deeds. Taking care of the environment near our Milan office is just one small way to do so. Today, we helped make Piazza Durante a little cleaner. Thanks to our friends at Azienda Milanese Servizi Ambientali - Gruppo A2A we were able to do it safely and efficiently! "The square cleanup is just one example of our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and supporting our local community. When everyone does a small part, we can make a big impact and create a cleaner and more welcoming community." - Pietro Calogero, CSR Manager at Kaleyra #AMSA #AMSAalltogether

IMPACTFUL GROWTH... 🎗️ Growth, as a continuous process, is only sweet when it is Impactful. Yoruba would say, "Ajoje o dun, bi enikan oni" meaning "It (success) won't be sweet when some lacks". 🎗️ It was a great pleasure to be a part of THE INTERNATIONAL WORLD CLEANUP DAY 2023 at Osogbo on 16th September, 2023 initiated by #Yali_network_Osun alongside #YTOP_global and some other association. 🎗️ Being amidst people with the same mission to; • clean up the Orisumbare Market, • Encourage the market owners to participate in the course, • Educate individuals on the important message the special day was passing. These and many more made the whole of my september as I felt like a stakeholder of the country, who is impacting it in her little way. Reminense on the 17 SDGs and play your part. You necessarily don't have to all, consistency with one is enough. #YTOP_Global. #Yali_Network_Osun #Impactful_growth. #17_SDGs #World_cleanupday_2023

🌳 What are we doing in terms of sustainability at our subsidiaries around the world? Through a joint initiative, WIKA Brazil employees planted 60 saplings with the support of the city council of Iperó. 💚 This wonderful statement from one of the participant encapsulate the spirit of this special day: "Residents of Iperó planted trees in the past, in strategic places and I benefited from this act, this is another reason why I participated in the tree planting. This is a way of being grateful for what has passed, taking advantage of the present to send a message to the people of the future: Preserve and take care of the nature that belongs to all of us!" ♻️ What else does WIKA do in terms of sustainability? Women play an immensely important role in the conservation world. From contributing ground-breaking research, to upholding traditional local knowledge, women are often the frontline of preserving nature and nurturing the communities around them. Still, for many women in conservation, these roles come with extra hurdles and challenges. That’s why it is essential we elevate women’s voices, stories, and impact – so they can be supported to continue this vital work. In 2023, 64% of our partners had women in leadership roles, and we are striving to increase this. By 2027, we plan to ensure 80% of the organisations we support have women in leadership positions. Here are just some of the women we collaborate with, who are making incredible progress as changemakers – empowering communities, protecting wildlife and people, and leading the way for women in conservation. Helena Gualinga – a young Ecuadorian from the Kichwa Sarayaku community – grew up in a family of women fighting for nature. Now she's an environmental and human rights activist, working to support Indigenous land rights in Ecuador and safeguard the many free-flowing rivers that intersect with these territories. Sheherazade and Asnim Alyoihana Lanusi established PROGRES Sulawesi, a female-led organisation in Indonesia, dedicated to building a network of empowered communities to protect Sulawesi’s rare and overlooked wildlife, so that nature and the island’s youth can thrive. Marina Kameni established Cameroon’s only organisation dedicated to amphibian conservation, Herp-Cameroon, to protect species on Mount Manengouba. We are delighted to support Marina as she emerges as a new leader in amphibian conservation – a big win for women in herpetology!
