“Be twice as good to be noticed.” Sound familiar? Many of us have felt the pressure to prove ourselves in a world that’s quick to judge and slow to support. This is especially true for black women in tech, like the founder of BlackGirlsHack, Tennisha Virginia Martin, who face unique challenges in their professional journeys. Tennisha expressed how she initially tried to navigate her career alone with Jordyn and Tiffiny, believing she didn’t need anyone’s help. However, she soon realized that going solo isn’t the answer. Real strength lies in collaboration and community. Her experience highlights a critical lesson: we don’t have to face these hurdles alone. By learning from each other’s experiences, we can avoid the pitfalls of isolation and create a powerful support network. Here’s what we can take away from Tennisha’s journey: • Collaboration is Key: Whether through mentorship, sharing resources, or simply being there for each other, collective effort leads to greater success. • Community Over Isolation: Leveraging a support network helps us grow and overcome challenges more effectively. • Shared Success: We all rise higher when we lift each other up. Let’s dismantle those silos and create a culture of support and collaboration. Together, we can achieve more and inspire others along the way. 🌐 BlackGirlsHack: https://lnkd.in/gMTJtvN 🎟 SquadCon 2024: https://squadcon.me 📆 August 6-8, 2024 📍Las Vegas, NV 🔗 Stats on Stats (Everywhere): https://lnkd.in/ejdAp5r2 #WomenInTech #BlackWomenInTech #WomenSupportingWomen #BlackGirlsHack #StatsonStatsPodcast

In the latest issue of the ZIVA VOICES magazine, we are exploring two distinct themes: “Speak Up” and “Adventure.” These themes are not entirely unrelated – for many women in many circumstances, both require courage, tenacity and the occasional stepping out of one’s comfort zone. In these pages, you will find inspiring accounts of women who’ve faced adversity head-on - and by speaking up, they’ve not only transformed their own lives, but also touched the lives of others. They remind us that our stories, our experiences, our struggles are not to be kept hidden. Rather, they are to be celebrated, because they have the power to ignite change. Did you know that according to 2022 data, Black women typically make only 67 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men? We’re ready to bridge the gap! We’re excited to share our partnership with Fem Equity™ for the BLK Women Equal Pay Day Conference! BLK Women Equal Pay Day Conference was designed to directly address this disparity and will offer women of color valuable information on a range of relevant topics, including how to advocate for equal pay for themselves; how to scale and advance their careers; and innovating their way through a power career. This one-day public event is a jam-packed affair for Black women and other women of color who are early in their career, ready to scale their career, and/or changing careers. Programming will include interactive workshops, expert panel discussions, and networking opportunities. “This experience is designed to support and expand your network, challenge your comfort zone on your possibilities, and make you aware of opportunities you didn’t know were in reach,” says Adeola Ajani, founder of Fem Equity. We’re so honored to be the main sponsor of this incredible event focused on empowering Black women in practical ways! If you’ll be in the Baltimore, MD area on September 22nd, we encourage you to attend the event! Lets hear it for the women who are smashing it in tech sales! In a field often seen as a men’s club, it's about time we shine a spotlight on the women who are smashing too..they're not just part of the conversation; they're leading it The tide is turning and it's exciting to see more women stepping into their power and getting the recognition they've earned. We need to keep this momentum going—creating spaces for women to thrive and backing them up every step of the way So here's to creating an environment where the Women in Sales can stand tall and be seen, not just for their achievements but for their potential. Let’s build a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone gets to play a starring role!

Any time I think of a creative strategy, I start with an intention. I ask myself: -What point am I trying to convey? -Who is this for? -Why do they need this?, and so on. So when it was time to plan Women's History Month content, I knew I wanted to tell the story of women pushing past glass ceilings, showing that even in male dominated industries we can still win. The inspiration felt timely and necessary. And that is how "Breaking Ceilings" came to be. Breaking Ceiling is a video series that aimed to highlight 4 women in 4 different male dominated industries: STEM, professional basketball, DJ'ing, and entertainment. We had former NYLiberty team member Didi Richards, media personality Scottie Beam, DJ Saige, and Marsha Francis, Ph.D. of STE(A)M Truck each tell their stories of hurdles, wins, and what kept them going during periods of adversity. The full series garnered over 130,000 views! Shoutout to the team, Tarin Richardson and Roger Castillo who helped bring this to life! #socialmediamarketing #creativestrategy
