Hard to cope with daily lack of good sense while watching others excel in all fronts. Imagine this: 1. You want to launch (very very expensive) rockets at a very expensive cost 2. Then you find out ways to reduce payload cost in materials, manufacturing, logistics 3. Then you find a way to avoid rocket total loss by retrieving it in a controlled manner for reuse and multiple relaunches 4. THEN you find a way to make the launch site the same as the landing site, saving days in repositing them (and man/hour). How? Can't imagine that? Then watch this https://lnkd.in/eNHZghrz Soon, says the man. Just these past weeks, a Tesla factory cargo bay has been spotted with a rather unusual conveyer belt trailer connection. A possible application could be a direct connection from the trailer to feed the production line, trimming a whole bunch of logistics, especially skipping resorting to forklifts and all the associated planning. How mad/lean can people get to step up their game to the next level, over and over again, while others just keep pushing into complacent mediocre standards? Just amazing, 1 in a (half) billion, the man and his teams! Props to all the mad scientists out there. Have a nice creative weekend.

Heard the interview. Good insights and thesis! I do wonder though how soon the new lower priced models would be seen out in the wild or how soon revenue from new business use cases (robotaxies etc) will be realized. The stock is definitely reacting very bullishly in the after hours. The real test will be whether this immediate bump will quickly fade away in a day or week or stick around and take the stock another leg up. https://lnkd.in/dHDmkFuu
Great to be on CNBC’s Last Call with Brian Sullivan along with Ross Gerber discussing our bullish initial take from Tesla’s conference call with Musk finally stepping up as an adult in the room 🏆🔥📺👇 https://lnkd.in/dy4sWFEu

Just putting this out there as a reminder to look back on in hindsight. When both Zeoz systems running (say by the New Year latest). Write a X mas note to Elon asking if it is possible to add 2 shortcuts to the touch screen of each Tesla and what it would cost to come pre-configured? i. to reach local business. ii. to activate time capsule. Remember to look at other possibilities if he thinks: i. stupid ideas. ii. does not reply. iii. not interested. As a final follow up ask: i. what he thinks is wrong with it? ii. could anything be done with it in space / mars? iii. send message via capsule to check if past message received in future? iv. does he have someone on his contact list who can takeover Zeoz? v. in the future could we host the systems in space and for how much? Must be of some use somewhere in the near future if not today thinking to my 46 year old self. Tanks for reading thoughts. Now apply them.

I think Ryan Fisher nailed it. I think for #Tesla (like it should be for all businesses) it is all about capital allocation. If returns (from the Supercharger network) were not expected to exceed this business' cost of capital (or by a required margin) then continuing the business would be a value destructive strategy, however bitter it may sound for the rest of the industry. Of course, like many management teams to, Tesla may have "twisted" its own business case for #robotaxis to justify this drastic decision (it is still a bet though). The decision was very internally driven (and shareholders' benefits-driven) though it looks very different from outside (irrational, emotional, puzzling, shocking ...). Only time will tell if the bet pays of or the move was self-destructive.
Fully emotional and erratic or based on some logic? Madeleine Brolly and myself explore some of the potential method within the madness of Teslas supercharger debacle that has left a big hole in the US EV industry in particular. I hope that this article isn't construed as vindicating the nature or extremity of these layoffs. Choose a problem NOT a product. Then... You need to... 1. Turn the problem into a question. 2. Answer your question. 3. Connect a product to that answer. Isn't that simple? For Example... Elon's problem was "Rockets are expensive". How can you make rockets cheaper? Make them re-usable, so he made boosters that can land That's why you need to choose a problem NOT a product.

What we learned this week: 𝗫 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀: Elon Musk's latest move shifts SpaceX and X headquarters from California to Texas, highlighting a broader trend of companies fleeing traditional hotspots for more business-friendly environments. This shift underscores the growing irrelevance of geographic centrality in the modern business world. 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Markets are reacting to the increasing likelihood of a Trump victory in November, impacting various sectors and companies. This shift is reminiscent of 2016, favoring U.S.-focused industries while creating challenges for those reliant on global trade, particularly with China. 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: We have a record-breaking summer travel season paired with one of the toughest profit environments in years. Despite soaring demand, oversupply and intense price competition are squeezing margins, especially for smaller, budget carriers.
