I have a new favorite formula for creating shareable content: Popular User Behavior + Wacky Twist = Shareable Content In this week's newsletter I talked about a video from Kraft Mac & Cheese that nailed this equation. It takes a user behavior (people put macaroni on the tines of their fork) and pushed it into a really humorous place (counting how many things with tines they can put the macaroni on). The video ends with something like 36 noodles on a rake. Another example is the below post from CAVA, a client of mine. They took a popular user behavior (people save half their bowl) + wacky twist (a fridge sign that calls it out) = shareable content. I think of it as brands meeting people where they are—and then pushing the boundaries.

Gating content in your marketing mix is a bit like salt in baking. A little bit can make the whole thing perfect. (And it actually tastes pretty bad without any salt at all.)
