Folks, it's time to tune in because I've got a lesson on the incredible power of repurposing the *right* content, and here's the scoop: As I've mentioned before, I'm all ears when it comes to being a social listener, staying laser-focused on what's trending on social media that truly serves WHUT's audience. Lately, there's been a remarkable trend I've dubbed the "comeback resurgence," particularly among black athletes. These are individuals who've weathered past hardships or faced challenges from the media spotlight. Simultaneously, I've been keeping a close watch on the sports scene, recognizing how it aligns with our mission of amplifying black excellence and sharing these inspiring stories. Now, here's where the magic happens – I've been repurposing content that centers around this theme of "comeback." And I'm about to drop a major win for our Howard University Television (WHUT-TV) platform: On August 9, when we first posted about Simone Biles, it kicked off with just 1,159 plays. But guess what? As of today, September 6, we're looking at an astounding 14,229 likes and a combined total of 403,626 plays on Instagram and Facebook. This success story is a testament to the fact that a post you might initially think of as a flop can suddenly skyrocket to go viral when a well-crafted strategy is in play. My only complaint the on screen text too big 🚀📊 #ContentPowerMoves #ViralStrategy #ComebackSuccess #contentstrategy #socialmedia #digitalamarketing #socialcontent

This book brings together artists, community organizers, and scholars who understand the politics of Black space making in Harlem through a range of historical, cultural, and anti-imperialist worldviews designed to offer new, reparatory pedagogical possibilities. Together, they reconfigure how we understand, employ, and carry forward Malcolm X’s sociopolitical, cross-cultural analyses of justice and power as everyday praxis in the built environment and beyond.

We created the jingle "It's Time for Sale!" to excite our community about upcoming sales, and it has become their signal for a YN sale. Many share that their significant others react with a humorous "UH OH... NO NO NOT ANOTHER SALE!" when they hear it on YouTube. This fun approach engages our community, making sales enjoyable without feeling like a hard sell, allowing them to join in or simply enjoy the jingle. #Youngnails #BrandCommunity #MarketingStrategy #ContentMarketing

theGrio is an American television network committed to the celebration of Black cultures throughout the United States. When I met Natasha S. Alford, the VP of Digital Content and a Senior Correspondent at theGrio, in September 2021, she emphasized the significant influence of the publication in amplifying Black representation within the realms of news and digital media. While scrolling through TikTok, I came across theGrio's Black Podcast Network, where columnist Panama Jackson engaged in a conversation with three individuals he credited with creating "one of the Blackest movies" he had ever seen, "They Cloned Tyrone". Juel Jackson (writer/director), Mark Wright (producer), and Stephen “Dr.” Love (Producer) shared insights into the movie's remarkable success and the concept of the "Black budget." Love highlighted the common practice in the industry where production companies tend to allocate budgets typically reserved for sci-fi films to Black projects. Unfortunately, Black films have frequently been confined to a specific budgetary range, despite their stories focusing on Black characters and their unique experiences. In a New York Times article titled "Hollywood Loses $10 Billion a Year Due to Lack of Diversity, Study Finds," it was revealed that Black creatives often bear the responsibility of providing opportunities for other Black talents behind the scenes. Emerging Black actors face fewer chances and a narrower margin for error in their careers, while minority representation remains lacking in top management and executive boards. Despite "They Cloned Tyrone" achieving substantial success, grossing over $100 million at the box office and receiving an 85% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film was granted a budget of only $20 million. This budget falls far short of what Netflix typically invests in a single movie, which generally ranges between $100 million and $250 million. This situation underscores the pressing issue that Black creators deserve equitable budgets similar to those provided for any other movie. “They Cloned Tyrone” boldly combines the essence of Black cultures with a compelling sci-fi narrative. If you appreciate these elements, I strongly encourage you to watch it. You can find it on Netflix, and it comes highly recommended. #theyclonedtyrone #thegrio Esquire Group Inc.
